I have some Maier black plastic that I need to revive. Have you been sucessful at reviving the black and getting a nice sheen to it? What about shooting a clear coat over it? Anyone ever tried just clearing over a sanded surface?

Armor All or wd40 will shine them, not perminatly though, it comes off when you wash it, then just spray it back on.
Makes my plastics look pink in pictures, but I have red.
Black plastics will look like a Deep Black.

ideally i would like a deep black look, but we will see how it turns out. maybe I can use the plastic renew then darken it with the armorall...

Plastic renwell wears off, and turns into a faded color. Search around on this site and you will see. I think in the 400ex section.

Grr maybe I will just try my best to polish it up and just go with it.

I have used it for about 3 years now on my black mairs.spray it on let it sit for a little, wipe off, reapply as needed. Works amazing
doesn't gather dust and dirt like wd-40,tire wet,etc..

well then, i will give it a shot.

theres a synthetic wax we sell at my work called ICE by turtle wax. it works on both paint and plastic. i havnt tried it on my quad yet but i used it on the plastic pieces on my mustang and they looked great. it doesnt leave any kind of white stuff either. ill try it out on mine after i get done riding today and let you know how it works. a big bottle of it is like 15 bux and they sell a smaller one but im not sure on the price

Pledge is the bomb dude.....I use it on my black 450 now.....it doesn't dull the finish like Armor All does....you can tell it if someone uses it on their black plastics...its doesn't have the depth to it.....and I used years ago on my bicycle when I raced BMX.....I hardly ever used water on it just Pledge...and over the time it built up and you could feel the Pledge on the frame......

Try some foaming tire cleaner. Just spray it on and let it dry. Makes it really shiny.

MOP & GLOW on a sponge.
Trust me.
It's a polymer that fills in the small scratches. Will make it nice and shiny and only takes 5 minutes. I use it straight w/ a sponge.
Mud will wear it off just like it will any other polish (including the 4hr plastic renew job).. but I just reuse it everytime I wash.
Wash, dry, apply, spray, shammy = shiny.

I mainly ride just in the sand though.

Plastic renew takes a long time to come off if you take care of it. After you finish just use a high quality protectant on it every day.
I just discovered my bike has been plastic renewed and my plastic looked like new until just now; I'm starting to see faded spots where my knees rub.
I'm going to get new plastics, but before I do I'm going to PC Renew them again.

I would check out simple green. It cleans my plastic really well and brings a pretty nice shine. Than again it is yellow. But dont think it would make a big difference. And someone said to use WD-40. Dont use that. I had a brand new set of maier plastics, I sprad my plastics down with it and being how it is a degreaser it took all the shine off. So I just took some mothers car polish and sat for several hours just polishing and I slowly brought the polish back.

Pledge is a wood polish. It comes in a spray can.

I saw something at Walmart the other day made by Mother's. It's called Back to Black. I haven't tried it, but it's worth a shot.

soft scrub or bleach white(a tire cleaner) works extremely good the soft scrub pulls mud out of the smallest crevis and shines up the quad
