I just bought a used 2005 YFZ450 SE and while I'm riding my legs get hot by the engine
Is that just me or every YFZ is like that?
Is their anything wrong with my YFZ?
I was wearing shorts if that matters with regular shoes.

No theres nothing wrong with it.Mine does the same thing.I really notice the heat when I am riding the trails. The exhaust header puts off the most heat.I would be real careful wearing shorts the header sticks out there pretty good.

has anybody ever tried using like a heat coating like JETHOT or something like that on their header to hold down the heat?? it would be pretty cheap to have the header coated and would probably hold down the heat...

Try Riding a Banshee with Shorts on! I have T6 pipes and now I have 2 scares on the inside of my legs.

If you don't have one get one (heat shield that is ).Also when I switched to synthetics oil and ran engine Ice I noticed that it runs wayyyyyyyyyyy cooler,my fan never comes on,No that doesn't mean that you can stick your tongue on the pipe or anything like that but you will or should notice a mayor difference.
