I just got a new computer for my 400ex and decided to move my old Endurance over to the girlfriend's 300ex. When installing the sensor, I saw that the 300ex has brake splash guards which I thought may interfere with sensing the magnet. Sure enough, after the install, the computer does not sense the wheel turning.

Has anyone else run into this problem? Do I need to remove/modify the splash guards? Are these guards even needed since I do not see them on other quads?

Any insights you can offer would be appreciated.

You can take those guards off --it will not hurt anything and you will be able to run your computer.

What quality is that trail tech computer? I was thinking of getting one for trail riding.
