im looking to change my handlebars on my 00 300ex, and definatly get rid of the plastic covering on them. i want to keep the headlight and was wondering what bars are good and how to make it look good and not all crappy, since the headlight is funny looking to begin with. the pic shows the old bars that need to go.http://netwerksite.web133.discountasp.net/bars.jpg

I put moose handlebars on mine. I got them out of Dennis Kirk for $17 and they work awsome.

I dont have any pic's but if you want to know how to run the ignition and wirering i mounted mine on the right side of the plastic where the gas tank is. What you might need is to take off the plastic and you'll need a drill and a circle bit. Then Place where you want the Ignition and the Nutrual and Reverse Lights and cut em' out and then file around where you drilled and then kaboom...you done

I rewired mine so the factory kill switch (above the starter button) is now my on/off switch. I use a tether kill for my kill switch.

I got renthals now, but i did have a set of MSR Dominators. I flipped my 300 twice into a field, and they didn't bend or tweak, but my stock levers did.

You can pick up a set for 30 bucks or so on rockymountain, or most other places. And when you do get a set of bars, get the CR High bend. The riding position is so mucn nicer, you'll thank me later.

a really easy way to mount the ignition is just zip tie it to the bars, i have mine down behind were my light used to be, you cant see it and its easy

i put a set of PRO TAPERS on mine, they look pretty sweet. I should have pics soon.
