Just flipped the Stock front wheels.

I just flipped the stock front wheels and the quad seems to sit so much wider. It is unreal the difference. I will get some pics of it up against one with the rim reg to get the actual difference.

get into some really rough sjit and you'll notice. i did it one day when i was bored but it's way to much. the more the tire/rim move away from the spindle the worse it gets.

it used to have my stock wheels flipped and it handled like crap, then I got my new wheels and tires and a-arms, and now it handles like bad *****

i drilled the hole in the other side and inserted the vale stem in backwards .then put a new one in the otherside rightside out.i'll ride that untill i get a arms ..tires... rims ...shocks ...axle ..

As far as I know,I havent heard any cases of bending spindles, or busting a valve stem off If you do it right.

I've seen many bent tie rods, 1 broken spindle, 100% bump steer and several hurt wrists! How are you centering your wheel on the hub if the steel inserts are on the inside?

I tighten them with the taper towards the wheel, then once all of them are centered I take them off one at a time and put the lug on backwards. Rode it today and it seems fine to me. I only rode while but it seems like it is impossible to roll now.

I also flipped the valve stem around inside out and drilled new holes. If I want to flipp them back then I will just pull the valve stems and do it the exact opposite.

Yeah, but this is major MXin your talking about right?
I know they bend tie-rods, cause I just bent one, but I would do this than spend 400 ****in bucks on new arms. Thats crazy. if your sponsored thats cool, but the younger people in the world cant afford everything!What they charge for new arms, and suspension components is OUTRAGEOUS. Same thing goes with shocks.This is a cheap mod, and I like it. And if I do break something, its just an excuse to get something better.

Is the stock flipped rims the same as Douglas offset rims? You guys got me worried now, because I run the Douglas offsets....

no, it's not. the offset rims are engineered to be "offset" whereas stock rims are engineered to be the way they are. offset rims that are supposed to be offset will work fine.

Even the 2+3 aftermarket wheels will bump steer and bend tie rods. Not as bad but it still there!

i'm in the market for shocks ,but i don't wanna get +2"shocks and put them on stock a arms until i can afford +2 arms...

I bought a set of 2+3 reinforced OMF wheels and noticed the bump steer even with a steering stabilizer. I wasn't real impressed with how it turned either. I'll probably sell them eventually. Jeff, what kind of deals are you making for Houser +3 long travel a-arms and Elka quad rates?

This is prob the formal def, but basically it is the increase in the bumps on the steering from the tires having more leverage on the tie rods causeing more fatigue in your arms, because of having to use more strength to control the handlebars.

Wheel-Spacers do the same thing,put more stress on the tie-rods and hubs.
The best way to go,if you wanna be wider,is a-arms, thats the only real good way to do it. Any other way just puts too much strain on the rider and suspension.
The best set-up is +3 a-arms and 4:1 off-set rims,then you'll be sittin pretty.

Pro400exc is exactly right! The farther you move your wheel away from the spindle the more bump steer you'll have and the more stress you put on your suspension parts like tie rods. The hot setup for MX is the +3 arms and 4+1 wheels. The next best thing is +2 arms and stock offset 3+2 Wheels. For XC the hot setup is +1 arms and 4+1 wheels or stock arms and stock offset wheels 3+2.
