i gotta change my rear wheel bearings and i aint never done that before so i was just wondering how hard it is and if your average joe could do it?

It is not too hard. You need an afternoon, some large wrenches, an oven, a freezer, and patience. I'd look into the How-To section. There ought to be an article in there about it. I wouldn't delay the project too much, though. Your axle can be damaged, along with the carrier.
