05 z400 or Raptor 700

I am going to be riding mostly trails and was wondering which would suit me better an 05 ltz400 or a raptor 700. I am coming off of a trailblazer 250 and have a feeling the 700 would have to much power. Thanks for any help.

get the 700r, i got it and think that it is the nicest quad out there now. Spend a little extra money and get the 700, it is a much nicer quad!

coming from a guy on a z400, i say get the 700r. nice bike. the z400 is a great bike, but in stock trim they dont have a whole lot of power. raptors you can ride all week and not get bored from the torque. the 700r is far superior to the 660. i would get a 400 before the 660. the raptor isnt too much power, you just have to get used to it like anything else when you move up.

I'd sit on both, and see how you like the feel, test ride them both also if you can. I've sat on a z400 and it was rather nice, but i've sat on a 350 Raptor, and didn't like it... I'm sure the 700R feels better, but just test em both out.

ok well now my pops says i cant get anything over 500cc, soooo would you suggest the predator 500, ltz400, or 400ex?

Get the Suzuki 450, they are a good quad with good suspension from the factory. Personally, it i was going to go buy a 450 right now, it would be a YFZ. Just my 2 pennies.

There's lots of people who ride their YFZ's in trails, I haven't heard too many complaints. The yfz is very fast machine, I don't know if that's what you would want in tight, twisty trails.

The yfz 450 comes with a pretty light flywheel, it wouldn't be the best choice for the trails, in my opinion. I would take the 700r in the trails before I would take the YFZ. YFZ would be my choice quad, but I also ride a little bit of everything. For a strictly trail quad, the raptor 700r has great power.
