what is the approximent topspeed on a banshee, any of the 450, and the raptor 700. and i was wondering which had the quickest acceleration.

I remeber reading in atvsport a long time ago I belive it was 69-70 on the banshee and the 450's were at about 74-75.

stock shee will hit arount 80 maby 85. Through on some pipe sand a air filter and she will hit 90. Mine does about 95 with no motor work. The fastest in acceleration is the raptor 660, but they are too tall to ride.

i know a stock one will go about 78 but if u add a larger primary sprocket and some tires, pipes and filter you'll easily be able to hit about 90-95.

oh and the fastest accelerating quad is not the raptor otherwise i wouldn't be able to destroy them on any hill. the fastest quad is the banshee in acceleration, but not by much the 4 stokes are catching up to us. the banshee powerband is just to much.

i called some dealership and they said the 700 raptor tops out at about 100-105mph but i think thats a load of poo until i see it cuz i say F**k raptors anyways

well stock for stock the new 450r and yfz450 will get a banshee in a drag race, top speeds on them should be pretty close in the mid 70's range for each machine, i havent raced or rode a 700 raptor yet so I have no clue how those things will compare to the other sport quads

They cant advertise a atv over 80 or 85 mph or that's how it use to be anyways..

Honeslty I dont see a stock banshee hitting 80 at all even a piped banshee would have a hard time getting there. My stroker motor doesnt even run that high in mph..

for an average to above average rider how hard would it be to ride a banshee on kinda tight wooded trails. a have a 400ex thats been lowered and widened with houser a-arms and i can do pretty good with that but a few spots the wheels basically hit trees on both sides so i have to slow down a lot likefirst gear

i can ride mine just fine through the woods, i dont think they are that bad at all, if your really good with a clutch then u should have no trouble because you can use that to control the powerband

oh yeah i ride in se ky where they are really tight trails and alot of steep hills

when i got my banshee it was my first fourwheeler and the day i got it i went and rode it at my friends woods and i had no problem with it at all...so if you have a 400ex you should do fine with a banshee in the woods or in that fact anywhere

A stock banshee will run 71ish
A stock raptor (660 older style) 72ish
450R and yfz 450 75ish

This is winding right out on flat pavement.

You can do all the motor mods in the world to any of these machines and they still wont go any faster. You need to alter gearing/tire sizes/ and or maximum RPMS

I got clocked with my stock banshee @ 72MPH, when I piped it and rebuilt it and got 78MPH. Then I adv the timing 7 degrees and delta v - force reeds and a street bike clocked me at 92MPH I don't belive it though I think maybe I hit 85 TOPS I hate ppl who think stock banshees go 100MPH. My buddie thinks his banshee goes 130MPH and all it has is a head and port work. I wasted him in a drag race and he thinks mine goes 140MPH

very and I mean very few shees hit the 100+ MPH mark.
even some of the banshee drag bikes with 125+HP hit 110 115mph in 1/4 mile runs. and this are true out of frame, ALKY drag bikes running 16-38 gearing.. not someones all around bike.

I agree, with 16/39 gears mine "might" top out right around 100. I'm right around 80hp too. Some people just think they are going much faster than they are. Anything over 80mph is ****ing fast no matter what.

With 15/41 gearing a Banshee is between 80-85mph on pavement. That with good pipes and open air box of course.

i beated stock shee with my stock banshee

my friend banshee with pro circuit pipe,jet kit,boost bottle .10 overseize was neck to neck on top en with a stock raptor but would kill the raptor in a race

FMF pipes & silencers, boysen reeds & reed valves, K&N air filter & air vents, K&N jet kit, barnett racing clutch kit, boost bottle, gearing changed 16 tooth on front 40 back, GPS at 95 mph

it needs alot do make that few thousand dollar

As for riding a banshee in the woods in isnt that hard. You just get tired alot quicker and the thing I have noticed the most is the ground clearance. I rarely get hung up now on my 400. When I raced the banshee I was alway pushing

i think banshees are great in the woods. im 14 and i keep up with my dads 250r pretty well. i mean he does smoke me alot on the trails but i have alot to learn. but as long as u kno how to ride and use the clutch ull be fine.

stock banshe aren't fast.... to go fast with a banshee youl need to puts lots of money

Banshees Are great Drag racers, Great Hill Climbers, and GReat all around duners.

There also a great TT machine

They are not the best at MX and not the best at XC but you know why? They have a mid to high powerband which fatiqes ppl. The only problem I had with mine in the woods was the ground clearance.

Don't want to let the cat out of the bag yet but I'll tell you guys it involves a Hayabusa motor, shopping cart, shin guards, seat off my old Huffy, helmet and a diaper.

For me anyways, i did notice a bit with the wind blowing. I just find that those big stock elephant ears create drag. You cut those "ears" off, the air will flow through now and over the rear fenders, IMO

i built my engine fo drag racing and have a few sets of tires and gears for it, i dont drag race, just lke to smoke people at the sand pits, when i wanna gofast 100-110ish MAX i put a 17 tooth sprocket on front and a custom made 39 tooth rear sprocket.

all you people that say a shee will go much faster then that are either stupid or ****ing rich.

about it being exspensive to go that fast, i bought my shee for 3800 bucks a looong time ago and put 6-7 grand in aftermarket parts into it :/ not including repair costs. dam worth it tho wen i race up the hills at the pit near my house and smoke all the pple on raptor 700's tat think theyre good because daddy bought them a big piece of **** atv

if you change pipes, say a top end pipe for example, your top speed will be faster due to the fact that your pulling more rpms and horsepower than with stock pipes, but this isnt gonna be much more than 2-3mph at the most

Ok, how many times must it be said... you can put all the freekin mods you want on a quad, but it want change your top speed. It's all it your tire and sprocket size.

ok take a stock banshee it cant revv barely as high as mine, with say stock tires and sprocket sizes mine will smoke it, how do you figure that dummy, yes it dose make a difference modding it and leaving the drivetrain stock, it will accelerate faster= more power, it will hit a higher top speed= being able to revv higher with some mods, once again think about it dumbass.

Ahhh, nothing like good mature comment, I know I shouldn't bother, but I'll respond to you. I guess I didn't make myself as clear as I should've. You maybe can stretch allttle top speed out of higher rev(2-5mph), But some of the less inclined people on the site, seem to think that since they put there new pipe on they can go from 75mph to 95+.... Sorry I didn't make myself perfectly clear. Again, thank you for your mature response.

All I can say is that I have an 03 Shee with ported and polished cylinders, wiseco pistons, shaved head, vito 380 jets, pro circuit exhaust, and a K&N filter and I ride with new 450's and raptor 660's and 700's and none of them can get me in a race so you do the math!

ok... well lets ee... you had an 03 in there, a 380, a 450, 660, and 700... looks like your total is 2193... now what exactly was i supposed to find out by doing the math?

and my body it 81 mph with an modifie raptor 660,

For my raptor660, never tested it, I got more modification then my body, Can tell for that one

If any of you think your banshee goes over 75 with no mods then everyone needs to get there heads checked. Call yam and they will tell you 72. With mods is a different story.

most kids don't realize how fast 70 mph is.. in a car it's one thing, but on a quad (remember the wheels aren't balanced, and most tires aren't made for high speed road control...) it would feel like 130 in a car... (hence kids with blasters think they are hittin 75...) I've never gone over 60 on a quad, (I've had blasters and a piped mojave, and topped them all out...) but I can tell you that most kids would chicken out way before 65...

my banshee had drag porting, 19cc domes, running 100 octane, v force reeds, vitos pistons, 20in rear tires and my gearing was 16/40 and i ran 86 mph REALISTICLY

i love how no one says their gearing, or tire size...they should even be more indepth with that too, like cut front fenders, wind direction, going downhill, etc....

sure 80 mph on a bone stock banshee is possible with a light rider, going downhill with help from the wind

i hit 120 mph on a 250 ex, with 26 inch tires, 9-48 gearing, shaved fenders, wind blowing straight down, and riding it off a cliff!!!

haha, you can go faster then that on a Lt 50 if you put it in the cargo section on a plane, a LT50 is capable of 350+ mph

wheres the math wiz 's to figure this one out. the rotational powerstroke of a 2 stroke muliplyed by the gearing added to the tire size difference in rotationak MPH at certtain rpm, divided by the rotation of the earth around the sun and boom you have the max top speed of a banshee.........
