Dual a-arms for e-ton

Did anybody ever come up with a dual a-arm set up for the e-ton? I have spoke to Hetricks about a set but they said the set up they have hits the frame so you have to bend the frame plus they said you use the stock spindles and I can't see how that would give you much travel. I also talked to a guy by the name of Dave Carter referred by wrh but his kit also uses the stock spindle does anybody know if the kit useing the stock spindle works well? thanks for the help.

got mine from cycle import too there really called the metra kit i think i know on the top aarm it has quadrofenia

they work great had too do a little grinden on mine though

Posted by: newnick

Do those take a stock length shock?

Posted by: mxdad423

I know the set I just ordered from Dave Carter uses a 12" shock it looks to be the same as the kit shown in the pic when you go to dual a-arms that is kind of the purpose to get more travel witch means using a longer shock......

Posted by: newnick

I know, but just had to check. The Rath dual a-arms look like they use a stock length shock. I don't really want to break the bank on duals because my boy is growing to much and may be to big to ride the Eton another year.

The Dual a-arms called for a 12 1/2 in. shock. We have 13 in shocks on ours and had to redrill the holes on the upper mount.

Thanks.

I gotta ask, where did you get the nerf bars? and how did you get them on? I looked at my sons stock plastic nerfs, and it looks like you have to cut some metal to put them on. Then I worried about the size of them fitting between the wheels. Those look great though.

Posted by: newnick

Those are AC nerfs. The easiest way to get the stock ones off is to cut them under the motor, unless you don't mind removing the motor. The AC's require you to weld four stubs on your frame to mount the nerfs. You have to position them to get them right. They are about the best you can get for a mini.

you know, I am starting to think I need to take up welding.

LOL WE know the feeling!

Posted by: motoxgirl419

That welder never stays in the garage. It always goes to the races with us...lol
You just never know when it will come in handy.

what kind of money would i spend to change over to this set-up?i already have 12" triple rate elkas on my sons.

Posted by: etondaddy

My friend Mxdad423 spent almost a grand. Just for the a arms.

Posted by: motoxgirl419

We spent only $600 for the duals from Cycle Imports. I thought that was a great deal and they work great. My daughter loves them!!! She finally likes to jump.

Posted by: kgmtech

motoxgirl419 was wondering if you had any problem with those a-arms hitting frame and limiting the suspension travel? also was wondering how wide they made the front end?

Posted by: mxdad423

I have the dual a-arms on my sons eton they are not the cycle import ones I got mine from Dave Carter at DC Motosports. They work great and are built really well and Dave is really cool to deal with you can call him at any time and he is always happy to answer any questions you have, He is also building alot more performance stuff for the etons that nobody else has. I will send you a personal message with his number....

Posted by: kgmtech

Thanks I would really appreciate it.

Posted by: mxdad423

I just sent you the PM, Like I said the kit works very well we have raced 8 or so races on them so far and they work great my son has really stepped it up. the quad has almost no bump steer and handles like a dream....If I can find my cord for my digital camera I will send you some pics of the front end, My son some how lost my cord to plug my digital camera into my computer....Oh yea by the way the front end is about 46 1/2" wide with this kit.

I agree, Daves good to deal with.

Posted by: motoxgirl419

Just found out that Cycle Import's prices have drastically gone up. Maybe from all the referalls I have sent their way....hmmmm.. wonder where my commission is?????

Posted by: markvette

a few weeks ago when you posted in another thread about these a-arms i checked the price on their website. it was $600, i checked again the other day and it is $1200. i would say he probably actually lost a lot of business by jumping the price up that much.

Mark

OUCH! We didnt even pay that much for our Big quads
I guess its that "supply and demand " .
Were in the wrong business! lol
