I’m getting a new quad

Ok I am getting a quad next month and don’t know what quad to get. A Grizzly 660 4x4, YFZ450, or a 450R. I ride in little trails, a little sand, a lot of field riding, and a lot of racing with friends and a little little mud. Tell me how your quads treat you. Thanks

YFZ for shure. I am a Honda man myself, but I think that the 450r's are meant to stay on the mx track and dunes. I have rode both and I personally think that the YFZ is a little more comfortable to ride. My 2 pennies.

Yes, YFZ for sure and if you could get the Bill Balance Editon. It is so hot. I own a Honda 400EX, but the YFZ is a lot better. The only problem is that it doesn't have reverse and neither does the 450r. But, you can get the added on from a local store for about 600 bucks. But, anyway YFZ for sure!

I don't think you can put reverse on it

Wow... pretty much none of that is correct at all. The 450r is all but suited to the MX track and dunes... if anything, the YFZ is. As far as being comfortable, that is all a personal opinion, but I find it quite the contrary. I also do not know where the reverse statement came from. I have NEVER heard or seen this... care to back that up?

not sure why you would want too any way...
my z is great in trails and i ride those all day long from fire roads to first gear tight trails. i use reverse mabye once every few months. you wont need reverse. my riding buddy has a 450r and has no probs.
when it comes down to a 450 its preference pretty much because they are so so close in performance. i kind of like the yfz over the R. some say the yfz is for mx and the 450r is for trails, but a quad is what you want to do with it. neither are built for one thing, but the LTR450 for example is.

Dont tell me you cant put reverse on a quad, because you could. Maybe you live in redneck country or the bayous of Louisiana or something that you cant, but where I come from you could. My friend put the reverse on a friggin YFZ so don't tell me fricken ChevyZ

Nah, don't live in a redneck country at all. Don't quite stay in the bayous, either. I have yet to see or here of someone doing it here, or anywhere... maybe I have been out in the dark on the subject, but that is beside the point. You seem to want to start an argument by the way you sound... I don't argue over the internet... much less with someone like yourself. If you want to prove me wrong, prove it, don't argue. I would like to see it.

Listen up, I'm not trying to start an argument, i'll get some pictures of the reverse of the quad. The setup and everything! In Connecticut at a store called Stamford Motorsports, you can go buy a YFZ or another 450 which doesn't come with reverse, and pay money and they will send you a kit to setup your own reverse. If you would like I will show you some pics within the next week. At this site right here you can see the lever kit, that goes on a quad.

Alright.... and bring some more info. Before you go ranting again, if you read my post, I never said that you CAN'T. I said that I have never seen or heard of it, and wanted some info to back up the statement... a link for a YFZ reverse kit, for example. You did not need to get upset over the matter, as it only leads to closing down more of peoples threads.
Posted by: ThatGuy123
Ok and you dont need to take offense over it! All I'm saying is that there is something out there that you don't know about! But you don't have to start saying that all of my info is incorrect because there maybe things that other people know and you haven't heard about.

I know that the internet can sometimes be misleading as far as the mood of a post, but I never took offense over it. I never take offense to anything over the internet. Saying I have yet to see something regarding the subject does not indicate that it is not possible or available. When I said that almost all of that is incorrect, I truly meant more of the 450r being based on MX and dunes.... like I said, I don't know anything about reverse on a YFZ, so how can I just come out right and say its incorrect? I would just rather see proof to such a "Bizarre" subject... I am sure it can be done, but do you think that we could do the same around here?
Posted by: ThatGuy123
Ok well I'm sorry if you think I was yelling and was in a bad mood, I thought you were just talking about the reverse on the YFZ. Obviously you weren't!

if you go to select model, your only options are a raptor or z400
the only thing i can see you using that on a 450 for is a hot start lever on the honda.
ive never seen or herd of such a kit either. some more info would be cool.

I just wanted to see if the grizzly would keep up with the 450s.

A utility keep up with a 450? Very rarely do you see that. The 450s will eat them up.. easily. If you are looking for speed and power, the 450s are where it is at.

About that add-on reverse thing you were talkin bout..wouldnt you have to pretty muchly swap out like the whole tranny to get it??
