Delmont, PA - For the first time ever, Steel City hosted an ATVA Motocross National, and over 500 riders made the trip to the hills of Pennsylvania this Father’s Day Weekend to test out their skills at this brand new stop for ATV motocross Racing.

Upon arriving, I knew that I was at an ATV National with the Steel City sign covered with ATVA Motocross National Banners, which set the stage for a great location.

Posted by: Admin

The entire one hill of the track was completely full with vehicles, which left late arrivals having to park on the opposing hillside.

The Pro Pits and the Vending area arranged all together and the many of the Pro Rigs are right along the entrance road, which will surely be packed with spectators on Sunday

Posted by: Admin

Being Father’s Day Weekend, there were many more wives and children at the races than usual this weekend with me included as I finally convinced my wife, Tina, to come out with me for the weekend to attend her first National Motocross event, and ofcourse we brought along daddy’s little girl, Faith Marie.

Posted by: Admin

Also, we finally had a chance to see Travis Spaders little boy TJ and his wife Amy at the races again.

Posted by: Admin

Also, the latest addition to the Lost Creek Cycle Family.

Posted by: Admin

The newly weds, Keith & LeAnne Little were also in attendance after tying the knot just two weeks prior along the beach in Alabama.

Posted by: Admin

Ofcourse, Jack Moore couldn’t resist spending Father’s Day Weekend at the races with his daughter Angela Butler who lives in Arizona, so the races are actually one of the few places they get to see each other since Jack lives in Ohio.

Posted by: Admin

With the racing action finally in PA, Jeff Cernic of Cernic Racing was also in attendance, and the Cernic family has started a push for ATV racing in 2006 as they are now sponsoring 3 Pro Riders Jeremy Lawson, Jason Luburgh, and Jason Dunkelberger, and he has even bigger plans for 2006.

Cernics has been involved with racing since the 60's, but primarily in the motorcycle division sponsoring some big names in motocrosss over the years including the high flying double backflip, Travis Pastrana.

Posted by: Admin

To help raise more money for the Mobile Medical Unit, John Natalie Jr & Michelle Reiser donated signed jerseys, which will be raffled off this weekend.

Posted by: Admin

Unfortunately for John Natalie Jr, he wrecked during the last Pro practice on Friday when he hit neutral going over a double, which sent him nose diving into the face of the jump. As a result, he severely sprained his wrist.

John attempted to practice on Saturday, but he only managed to due two laps before pulling off in pain, so unless something dramatic happens, he will just be cruising the track this weekend atleast for a few points.

Posted by: Admin

In honor of Todd Vescovi, Travis Spader wore the #35 on the back of his jersey along with the #23 on his helmet in memory of Zachary Griffin. Todd Vescovi lost his life in a tragic accident at a local event in New England as he prepared to make his comeback to Pro racing again, and Zach Griffin was lost back in March at the Gatorback National as a result of an accident during the race.

Posted by: Admin

Back in action this weekend, #270 Josh Creamer with his new look. Josh missed the last round at Muddy Creek after wrecking at the WPSA Series in Kentucky, but he feels 100% this weekend and hopes to make it up into the top 5.

Posted by: Admin

With Natalie Jr hurt, and the appeals hearing going in favor of Joe Byrd on Thursday, he has received a major boost in the Pro Championship points race, but with 5 rounds left of racing anything could still happen as Joe well knows from his mishap at Southwick a few years ago, which allowed Jeremiah Jones to slip past him for the Championship

Posted by: Admin

Pro Riders, Rocco Arno Jr & Jason Luburgh were also back in action this weekend after skipping the last round at Muddy Creek.

Posted by: Admin

191 Dustin Wimmer has been on a roll lately, and he was tearing up the Steel City track during practice, so I wouldn't be surprised to see him near the front of the pack this weekend.

Posted by: Admin

As always, Jeremiah Jones looked extremely fast as he blitzed around the track

Posted by: Admin

he Canadian, Richard Pelchat, has made his return to racing in the ATV Motocross Nationals after skipping a few rounds to focus on racing at home in Canada

Posted by: Admin

After finishing 4th Overall at Muddy Creek, Jeremy Lawson is ready to flex his muscles this weekend at Steel City.

moto 1 was a good race ... i was cheering for dunk ... he was in 4th for 2 or 3 laps then started to slip. they announced that natalie had a dislocated wrist and they werent sure how much of a threat he would be today

Posted by: nofearrider1

yeaaaaaaa Brown

I miss the old style coverage

Posted by: videofool666

I just want to say i was impressed with the way that fans from all over (and i mean all over the U.S.A) Showed up for the race at steel city. From Cali to Maine They were there.

Posted by: Race4Yamaha38

That battle between jones and little in moto 2 was a really good one. dunk was doing really good in the first half or so of both motos but he did especially good at the start of the 2nd. he was around 4-6 for most of the race. thats also a bummer for both natalie and byrd this weekend.

Posted by: videofool666

Anyone hear anything about the kid they lifelighted? I have it on film but i don't want anyone to really see it until i know how he is doing...if you understand what im saying

Posted by: red rider88

when did they lifeflight anyone??

Posted by: yfz450bb07

What class was it in???

Posted by: videofool666

The moderator said that the kids name was Aaron

Posted by: tido450

i hope the kid is alright, ive actually seen people get lifeflighted for just a broken leg. lets hope it wasnt a severe injury and he has a speedy recovery

Posted by: tamehart

Anthony Mastrocola was the one life flighted. Anthony was running in Production C when he crashed. He has broken his 6th and 7th vertebre. Surgeons have place metal rods in his back so far. His recovery status is still unknown, but the doctors have stated that there was no damage to the spinal cord in the area of the broken bones. Please keep him in your prayers. I will post his address soon as I get it if anyone would like to send him a card. I will also keep everyone updated to his status.

Posted by: dist5mxer

if you're talking about the kid that wrecked on the single to table on a yellow ltr450.. his name is Anthony Mostrocola.. but im not sure wether you're referring to him or not..

Just a lil info about my results for the weekend... i was in 3rd in the Production B qualifier and had a pretty bad wreck before the infield uphills. I ran 2nd place 3 laps of the 265 B qualifier, so i took a peak in the corners and saw that 2 of my friends i race with at steel city and other D5 tracks were right behind me. Instead of pushing it i let them go by putting me in 4th. I decided i wasn't going to go to the Production B LCQ so i could focus on the 265 B main event..which i came from 18th up to 9th, then dropped to 10th a few turns before the finishline..

please pm me if you find anything else about him. we were standiing right there when it happened and it looked really bad. we went over to him just to tell him help was on the way and make sure he didn't get hit until the track people got there. but we were wondering how he was doing. he was having trouble breathing when we were there, but we didn't know what else to do for him.

Posted by: iceracer65

i will keep him in my thoughts and prayers.
