where you loosen the 4 allen bolts at the rear of the swingarm to tighten/loosen the chain is there a rubber seal that goes in that because im putting mine back together tonight and didnt recall seeing one fall out or anything if so would it hurt it to ride without one????

Posted by: Phills450r

it cant be that hard to answer!!! someone walk outside and look i need this thing put together tonight

yes there is a rubber seal that goes in the middle of the swingarm where the opening is.

The stock swingarm has a seal that the 4 allen bolts go thru to help hold it in.

Is it OK to ride without it? You could,it will let more crap in on your bearing housing though.

Also, when you tighten the allen bolts, don't pinch it so hard that the metal meets the metal.

guess i wont be practicing for the fathers day race had to order it from the dealer cause it wasnt in stock for a 2 dollar part

Posted by: Phills450r

i wonder if there is anything i could put in it to hold up for like 1 days worth of riding... would cocking it work (not sure how you would word that one)

I have a spare swingarm with one in it,but it won't get to you any quicker that the dealer.
Does the dealer have any new quads on the floor?
Have him rob it for you.

I would probably try some silicone instead of the caulking(cocking).

I think that is a good idea actually. This way you don't lose any riding time and your housing is sealed off from the grime.

thanks for the quick help im probably gonna do that cant let daddy down on fathers day being that he is who all the bills for my quad go to.. hehe thanks

If you don't want to make a mess with the silicone, you may could try cardboard. I have seen it used as a gasket many times.

Posted by: HAVOK

A roll of cork gasket, cut it to fit. You can find it at most auto part store's.

Yeah, you gotta take care of your sponsors! Good luck.

What happened to the old one by the way?

The cardboard is not bad idea either.

Wnenever i adjust my chain water pours outta there. It probably dont do what it is supposed to do anyways!!!
