my 250r looks like it has an extended swingarm. I measured it and it is about 22 inches long. Im not sure what year 250 it is or anything but im thinking this is an aftermarket swinger. There is also a pretty big gap between the roundhouse and the linkage mount, any help is appreciated... pics of stock swingers wouldhelp too. thanks, Josh

The 86 & 87 R had a steel swingarm painted gold & measured out about 22 inches.
The 88 & 89 had an aluminum swingarm, dont remember the measurement but it was shorter than the 86/87.
Most aftermarket swingarms for the 250R have a chain guide at the rear to guide the chain onto the rear sprocket, you might can tell by that if its stock or not.

both the stock 86 and 87 swingers are exact accept for the tab mounts for the skidder...which the spread is a hair different. the length is approx 19.5 inches center to center (not overall). muddy pic below.....

If I'm not out thrashing the quads, we're bleeding black and gold Don't worry, they get washed in the off season! The rings were just handed out the other night. How sweet it is.

the huge black pic above is the 86 year swinger. the difference is that the mounting tabs for the skidder are "forward" by location. The rears are just ahead of the carrier (87 is underneath) and the fronts are inside the rounded corners (87 is a few inches away from the corners) If you don't run a skid, both do the same job.
