I know somebody on here put a 450R swingarm on a 250R, but I don't remember if it was a stock or aftermarket frame.

So what I am asking is how do I put a 450R rear end on a 250R

I can't find a good rear end for a 250R so I am thinking 450R stuff is so abundent I could get that much cheaper. Could I just put a 400ex or 450R bearing carrier in a 88 swingarm and use the axle, hubs, rotor, rear caliper etc. from each?

For the front do 450R spindles hubs and rotors and calipers attach fine to 250R a-arms?

thanks

Since the 450R and 250R use different types of links you will most likely have to move the upper frame mount for the rear shock in order to make a 450R rear shock/link/swingarm work properly.

The spindles and their associated parts (hubs, calipers, rotors) attach with no problems.

400EX and 250R use the same bearing carrier. It you use a 400EX axle on a 250R you will need the 400EX caliper, caliper mount, rotor (larger than 250R), rotor hub, lock nut and wheel hubs. Get a 400EX antifade instead of using the OEM rotor hub and lock nut. I have first hand knowledge of the 400EX axle on a 250R setup. My 400EX caliper is lost in the US Postal system's Bermuda Triangle delivery route right now.

In order to use 450R parts on the rear of a 250R the 450R caliper, caliper mount (you will need to add spacers), rotor, rotor hub and locknut will be needed.

Check this post for 450R brake parts on a 250R upgrades.
