This is the same post I made over at Z400Central quite some time ago...I figured I would add it here for those who don't visit over there. The only addition that's not AutoZone is the '03 Banshee front studs and the SureDrain.

Rear Wheel Studs - Part number #156860 98090......they are $0.89 each

I think all you need is the 98090 number, but I listed everything on the receipt.

Compliments of '05GreenMachine' - from Z400Central - Front wheel studs can be replaced by using the front wheel studs from an '03 Banshee. The only difference is the Banshee studs are black.

Also, for those of you who want replacement lug nuts for aftermarket style wheels (i.e. Douglas wheels) you can pick up the following part number at AutoZone.

Part Number #494879 983-110......they are $1.79 for a pack of 4.

Those nuts and studs are M10-1.25 and the nuts use a 14mm wrench/socket.

Another great find that I stumbled up are body clips!!! Yes, that's right, AutoZone has body clips that fit perfectly for a Z400...and they're cheap.

Part Number #493503 799-100......they are $2.79 for a package of 15!!!

I was pretty happy I found these parts, and hopefully the entire community can benefit from this find.

****EDITED FOR UPDATES****
I found out today that this part fits the engine drain plug. I took my engine case drain plug out and went to ACE to find a nut that fits, then went to Checkers and used the nut to make sure this drain plug fits. *NOTE* This does not have a magnet inserted into it like the stocker does.

I bought this from Checkers, but I think AutoZone also carries them.

It depends on where they break I guess. I only changed mine because the dealer used an impact to put them on (too tight), so they snapped when I loosened them.

I just used a tap and hammer to push the old one out.

To put the new one in, you set it in place (maybe tap it couple of times with a hammer to get it started), then stack a bunch of washers on the threaded side, and start tightening it up until it's snug. That's what worked for me anyways.

I think 1 of mine is bent or i have a bent hub? But I thought i would check the studs first since they are alot cheaper!

Take the rear wheels off and prop the rear end up so you can watch the hubs while the axle spins. That should tell you if the hubs are good.

You can probably use a hammer to straighten the hub if it's bent. If the wheel stud is bent, I'd just cut it off as close to the hub as possible and tap it out.

No...if you look closely, you'll see (just above the hose) a threaded end with a yellow cap on it.

The yellow cap comes off, and that part threads into the same place as the oil drain plug (replacing the oil drain plug on the engine). There is also a brass cap (not pictured) included. It threads onto the threads you can see in the pic. When you want to drain the oil, you simply remove the brass cap, and screw the hose onto the threaded end. The hose has an attachment on the inside that opens the drain, and allows for a non-messy oil drain.

I wouldn't recommend using this if either of the following applies to you:

1. You don't have a belly skid
2. You need the security of a magnetic drain plug (this one is NOT magnetic).

SureDrains are made for automobiles, but I just wanted to see if there was one that would fit my old Z400....and it did.
