All I can say is I was there sunday and the pics of these hills don't even compare to them in person. I did most of the hills but they are freakin steep and one mistake and your done. I only had a slight crash when I wheelied over backwards going up the hill with the big sprocket or something coming out of the ground but I managed to catch it and spin it around so only a little road rash on my arms and shoulder. Awesome time!

Posted by: QuadJunkies

lol that mudlooks NASTY!! but that lake looks inviting... Did the kids go take a dip to rinse off after riding?
great pics as always

Posted by: luvmyex

looks like a fun place. them hill are huge!

actually.........the "lake" is an old stone quarry filled with water. We did let the kids rinse off before heading home, but not in that particular body of water. It did very little good anyway. We are planning another trip in a few weeks.

Cool maybe I will see you this time I am either going June 11 or
june 18th so if you are still there maybe we can meet up. This place rocks!

4punksdad:
You may know this guy. He was part of your group that got there when I did. He didn't quite make it up this one. I gave him a hand getting down.

Posted by: TargetBow

Not a real clear picture of getting the front end skyward

yeah........he was with us..........joey aka splash.

I had to help him down from there once myself..............he finally made it after a few attempts.

keep posting pictures if you have more. It was nice meeting ya.

Posted by: TargetBow

I'm glad to hear he finally made it. I was able to do the first turn with no problem but when I tried the upper turn I didn't make it myself. I guess I was intimidated and backed off the throttle to soon when I got up to the turn. I'll be back to try that upper turn next time I get up there. Maybe I'll be able to meet up with you guys next time.

Posted by: MR.BIG

I will be going again this sunday 6-11! This place is awesome.

Posted by: 250r4life

4 punks dad... you suck man... it seems like you have some sweet riding areas all around you. looks like a lot of fun... i guess i shouldnt complain cuz i have some sweet dunes 3.5 hours from me, but...

yah, im jealous...

Posted by: 4punksdad

targetbow.............

that upper turn isn't bad, too much speed is a bad thing actually. I nail it in 3rd from the bottom to the top and coast over the hump............depending on your gearing, you might be able to do the same. I used to run a 14 tooth front on my 400ex and I think it might have been able to pull third although I never had the opportunity to try. Run some radials if you have any on the shelf..........they seem to hook up better in the loose stuff.

mr big...........have fun on 6-11 and post pics if you can. I will be at home for punk2's 10th birthday party. We got him a new go-cart and my sister & brother-in-law are giving him a 250ex that used to belong to their late son. He should have one of the greatest birthdays of his life. I can't miss that for any reason

250r4life...........glad you enjoy the photos and stories..............head to those dunes and fill us in on your adventures. I would love to see the pictures. In the spirit of 2trokes4life, I will post a pic of my 87 quadracer.

Posted by: Guy400

Joe, awesome to see you still rocking the old 'Racer

One gripe...where's the bikini pics

I hear you I wouldn't miss my son's birthday either. I took pics last time on a disposable camera and you really can't see how big the hills are until you are there in person. I need to get a digital camera.

man, i feel so honored to have a 2 stroke posted in my honor...

old school suzuki... we've still got 2 in our group actually... one is an older guy who jsut comes to our thanksgiving dune trip, and the other one has since purchased other 4 strokes... its great cuz he and his wife are upwards of 70 or more, and she has an 87 trx 250r that is all original except for the silencer and paddles... and he has the lt 250r that i think has 1 rebuild... theyve got several raptors now and a couple hondas, and always bring their teenage granchildren to the dunes... how cool is that- having grandparents who ride and have a big ol' motorhome to take their grandkids down to the dunes...

sorry for my tangent...

oh- ps... im not allowed to tell her husband, but the 70 year old grandma still prefers the 250r in the dunes... we do have to kickit over for her, but...

the quadracer hasn't been out in months...........the new raptor 700 has my full attention, but I wouldn't sell the quadracer for any amount of money. Its cool.............if you ever want to come ride your old bike you are more than welcome. Thanks for selling it to me.

what are you riding these days?

the old quadracer used to belong to guy400.........he was the second owner I believe. His uncle bought it new as I remember. Well cared for machine. Not the fastest bike in the world, but certainly cool to ride and very unique. I haven't seen another one this nice in years. My buddy blew a couple of the factory decals off while washing it one day and I thought I was gonna cry............... It had the factory piston and rings in it when I got it from Guy. It has had 2 top ends since then. 90 % original quad.

not sure what tires you run, but the stock radials seem to hook up real well in that stuff.

Posted by: MR.BIG

I had holeshots on at the beginning of the day but they were pretty wore out. I put the stock ones on in the middle of the day and they seemed to work well. I just bought brand new holeshots so I think they should work pretty well. I will find out sunday.
