when i bought my 300ex i looked through dennis kirk to find a performance air filter for it. like an idiot, i didnt even look to see what it had on it already, and i ordered a UNI. when the UNI came I took of my air box lid and saw that it had already had a K&N on it. It was dinged up and dirty, and I had a brand new filter in my hand, so I just took off the K&N and put on the UNI. Should I put the K&N back on or leave the UNI, because i ride on trails and i always have heard foam filters are better for trail riding.

I used both filters and prefer the uni for the simple fact that I think it will catch more dust and dirt then the k&n. I would also use a prefilter for either of them.
