problem solution after a bail

After bending the steering shaft, the one allen bolt that holds on the tie rod tab was torqued in there. The craftsman allen wrench spun and there was no way to get it out. Used a tig welder to attach another hex head bolt to the stripped out allen head. This technique works well on brake caliper pin bolts on 250Rs and a whole lot of other problems too.

Gotta thank the wife for letting me get another stem from Fuel ATV. She kinda bailed off pretzeling a tie rod too. Bent right back though. So the weekend wasn't a bummer, except for the brake pedal bruise on her butt....
Its one trick stem, bolted right on and has the ability to offset the antivibe clamps abit if you need it. Looks great chromed, made of much stronger chromemoly steel.

Sounds like a nice stem!
Have you ever gotten a pipe yet? Makes a big difference over the stocker......
I like your threads, but don't come over here much to check em out. We have good discussions on topics at lt-r450c e n t r a l.com(except all together). Love to see you there.

If I remember correctly complete w/ bar clamps - 7/8" or 1 1/8" your choice it was $240 w/ exchange. Which makes it alittle over half of a Roll Design stem. It is alot nicer than the stocker, if just for the 'bling' factor. The stabilizer bolted right up too. Sweet deal.

what kind of stabilzer do you have on your r450. thanks
Posted by: DezSled
The stabilizer is a Denton rebuildable stick type. Not the best out there but it works acceptably well. Just don't want to get harpooned by it...
