Im looking to get a new "used" Quad and i wanted to know, should i get a 400EX or a YFZ450??? Just something to play aroung on.

It depends what kind of riding you are going to do. If your are trail riding the 400ex would probably be better. If you are jumping a lot and want quick quad the yfz would be better.

just something to play around on? get a 300ex. a 400ex and yfz450 are 2 TOTALLY different machines!

12-14 footer? get a bmx...
neither one of them will "blow up" over anything you'll probably be doing.. but the yfz would probably be more fun then the 400, better suspension/faster motor. 400 will be alot less maintenance though.

you mean a bmx bike i think. but ya i just made the swicth to a yfz after having a 400 and there is a huge difference. no dout get a yfz in the long run it will be the better choice

No doubt about it, the YFZ will flat out smoke it in anything... But the 400ex is great for jumping/ and trail riding and ground tricks... But if you want to jump far, or race competitively then go with the 450.

Thanks for the help I think I am going to go with the honda.
Unless I can find a good deal on a YFZ.

man, i would definately go with the yfz, especially if jumping is the main concern... the yfz suspension is so much better than the 400ex... at the dunes my buddy leads and i ride #2, and man we'll go flying off stuff and i'll be right behind him, and he'll come off all ackward and his suspension just soaks it up... i thought he was gunna wreck so many times, but that yfz takes it like nothing...

yfz has more power and is more stable than the 400. it has better suspension. I have a 400ex and they are great bikes. they are good for any type of riding. if you get a 400ex you will not be disappointed because it is powerful and will run forever. I do not know much about the yfz but one of my friend's has one and he doesn't have any problems that I know of even though he's had it for about a year. hard decision so good luck!

Yeah, good luck with whatever you choose. The YFZ has the edge as far as racing goes, but for playing around the 400EX does great. It is very easy to do things on, and maintenance is almost nonexistant on these things. Seven years on my stock engine and it still ran like the day I bought it... never even broke a part or had something go wrong that wasn't as simple or general as a spark plug. If you ever have the chance to meet some of us out at the spillway, I have buddies with damn near everything. You could always come and check us out... let you sit on and check out some bikes before you go looking to buy something.

Thinks I might look into that.

i would get the yfz. if you get the 400ex it will be fast at first then you'll get better and you'll want something faster and regret geting the 400ex.
