This may be a dumb question, but I just got my '03 Predator yesterday and I was riding it today and heard a slight rattle (the best way to describe it is do you remember the sound of pinning a baseball card to a bike to get it to hit the spokes). Can anyone help me?

Possibly running to low of octane gas in a machien with high compression piston???

That might be it, I never asked the previous owner what he ran in it, and I used what I had left in my gas can, not very high octane.

If that is the case it would have done it more when it was under a load such as acceleratign up a hill.

You just purchased it yesterday and today it is making a pinging noise. if that is the case i would definately want to have it checked out. you might want to get your money back.

My DS did the same thing it was valve chain tensor. It had frozen and the chain had too much slack in it.

I going to have it checked out by a local mechanic and see what he finds out. IT doesn't sound like anything major, and still runs great, just a small noise.
