wat honda chassis and motor would work the best?
250r +crf450 motor
400ex + crf450 motor
any others combinations?
which would work the best?

250r stock frame you have to hack up...400ex you dont

so a crf450 motor would bolt in a 400ex chassis?
Posted by: theTman
not bolt in, but after making custom mounts and etc yes

how difficult would this be, and is it worth the money?

No you dont, all you have to do is make diffrent engine mounts for the 250R frame , LONESTAR RACING and WALSH RACE CRAFT RACING even said so, they even said a yz400f or the yz426f will fit in a stock 250R frame with diffrent engine mounts, the crf450r engine is just a really tight fit in a 250R frame,,

yes i know the yamaha motors fit with room, but if you want to make a crf450 fit in a stock 250r frame GOOD you need to cut it up

that linked helped alot, i was curis about the pricing.
i plan on selling my z400. so all have a total of 4k. to spend(so al obviously need more money)
would woul da race ready 400 ex chasis cost?

Whats up Brendan? its rolls royce , if you wanna make a hybrid your best bet is either 250R frame with YZ426F engine in it or 400ex with CRF450R engine in it, both are awsome conversions but if i where you i would pick up a 400ex with all the mods on it like suspension and a-arms and axle blah blah, then take out the 400ex engine and sell it, pick up a CRF450R engine and throw it in the frame, i'd suggest sending your frame to JB racing and they will modify the frame and powder coat it any color you like, then when you get it back you throw a 250R radatior in there with with CRF engine and then come ridin with me, haha

aight thnks rolls royce. then i will roll down to the track and murder your little 450r NEXT YEAR, unless i get it done over the summerr

Then show up and race me tommrow
Posted by: brapbrap13
haha, you wish. i dont wanna show you up infront of ur fellow racers.
i might have found a race ready roller for 2700. so that would leave me 1300 for everything eles. is that enough or no?

Since the outing of the 450 class machines,,,there is no such thing as a "race ready 400ex". 400's are a great machine, but was never a real racer.
Take your 4k and make it a down payment on a 450R.
I raced a stock 450R at the Texas GNC.
It was way faster than I.
Have fun with whatever you get.
