my friend is thinking about getting a big bore kit for his 05 z400. its completely stock right now. if he gets the 440 or 430 kit how will the power and speed compare to my 06 450r w/ hrc and exhaust?

he would need a carb and full exhaust at the absolute minimum! If he just gets the bigbore you won't have nothing to worry about. If he did it in the right order then you better watch out. If he got cams, Cdi, full pipe, intake, and a carb it would do more then the big bore alone. Then if he threw the big bore in he would fly. but it would more than likely just make it a even fight.. you win once he win once type deal.

I beat many of the 450r's at Little Saraha, OK. while I was there drag racing!!! Some beat me but all you have is a hrc and exhaust so I am pretty sure I could beat you( you might be a better drag racer then me so that could change the outcome!!) But he needs a carb, full exhaust, cams and other things that TheZis2Fst4U mention to make the big bore worth while!!! It also depends alot on who can ride better!!! If he is really good and your only OK that can change the outcome!!! So can weight! If one of you weighs alot more then the other, the one that weighs less has the advantage!!! So the outcome can depend on many things, do if he gets the stuff race him and then trade quads to see if the outcome is different!!!

I have a 440 (mods in sig) And it makes a big differance. It can definitely keep up with 450's with a pipe. this was my first time riding it. (I'm the red z400 in the middle)

I really dont know for sure. I think it says the base price in the Alba section of Dirt Wheels. My dad got it for me so I could keep up with the 450's in my class, which it does.
