Good guess. Twisted's old pipe, there are pics on here of it on his quad. There maybe some better pics of mine from Duponsters post in the open forum in BPG pics. I have been wanting to do the black and white ring thing awhile, and was unsure what it would look like. But I like it and thanks for the comments.

Beautiful quads Slosh!! I'm sure liking the the PEP/ Walsh front ends. I'll be running PEP/ Roll front end on mine, but it was a toss up for the new flow from walsh and I ended up getting roll.
How do you like the PB-1/ walsh combo?

Hey slosh13 how do the $1200 peps with the bolt on rezzies compare to the pb1s? Do you think the pb1s are worth the extra 800 bucks?

Not really too much, first I'm going to weld up some cracks and touch up the pain. I have a Houser reduced bump steer steering stem, CV4 radiator hoses red, IMS nerf bars, and a Tag plastic skid plate to put on once it is back together.
Posted by: slosh13
The Walsh/PEP combo is the best handling setup. Period. As far as the PB1's, the remote rezzy's are great, but the PB1's are so much better. Theres a bunch of different changes from the remote piggybacks to the PB1's. Worth every penny, IMO

Dont think that's a socket guys... looks like the adjustable axle on one of my 450's... believe it's a durablue?.... to widen the axle to +4 you move the hub out and and put a bolt through the hub and axle... when it's at stock length that's part of the axle sticking through the hub....BUT i've been wrong B4

PEP also makes compression only adj (no rebound) PB1s now and they are only $1400. Depending on how good you are, you may not benifit that much from having rebound adj, I have compression only adj peps and they work great, PEP usually sets up the rebound pretty good.

Well said. We has a LSR Hybrid with ARCs and after I set the rebound for him, he never touched it again. Wayne can get the rebound pretty spot on.

nj450rider I really like your quad just becuase its pretty basic. Do you have any plans on suspension like revalves or anything or converting to long travel at all? How does it work out with the houser +2s and stock shocks becuase I have houser +2s coming for my 04 and I'm wandering how the stock shocks are going to hold up until I send them in to get rebuild. Also how is the swingarm with what looks to be a stock shock and maybe stock linkage? lol after seeing yours it makes me want to get black plastic becasue I really like the way it looks.

Winter Mods:
GT T rebuilds w/ GT T mx linkage
Houser +2 stem(black)
Tag t2 450r bars(black)
Rath number plates(just need to put em on)
putting on my rear Hiper mud pugs(lazyness lol)
stainless brakelines(have em never put em on lol)
Quad tech hump seat
Quad tech or Gen X hood
New black OEM plastic(plastic now its so beat up)
Roadridin450r:
The shocks right now are super soft. I cant really take any big jumps right now cause bottoming out is constant. that and it hurts alot lol. I mean i still ride it but it wouldnt work on the track at all right now. I adjusted the rear shock to wear its decent. I have the rebound turned all the way down and it still bucks a little bit. So first thing this winter is GT T rebuilds forsure!
Posted by: RoadRidin450r
Haha sweet, my quad is almost the same set up but I think I am going with derisi rebuilds and I have a regular hmf pipe with a red can and I have different rims but my rears look like hipers due to the red ring and black centers and i got red plastic but alot of the parts are similar. Another thing ive ridden quads with flex bars and a stock stem and it felt better then a houser stem with fat bars but if you get flex bars and a stem it gives too much movement and you kind of have to tighten the clamps down all the way which defeats the purpose of the stem so maybe it would be better if you got risers and flex bars. Im just perfering flex bars over the stem becuase after trying the combinations I think it feels about the best and thats why I am doing it to mine. Also about how much was it for the 4 hipers and tires if you got them new becuase I'm thinking about getting a set and what model hipers are they?? Thanks alot
Posted by: NJ450rider
I dont even remember the prices of everything lol. I pay cost for most of my parts. The front hipers i got used off of ebay almost 4 years ago. Ive sat on a few quads with flexx bars and they feel wierd to me. i dont like how your wrists point down and away. The bars on my 450r are an inch higher than stock as it is and i hate it. there still to low. im almost 6 ft 2 and i hate being hunched over my quads.

My pipe is fine for me, i'm a C class mx racer so i dont need one of the big 3 pipes everyone is a fan of on here to compete, i'm sure if i was a A class rider or Pro where every pony counts it would be different, i have had it on for 2yrs now no problems at all.

I am very happy with it, i was going to buy a Axis shock to use with that link but i got a good deal on the Fox shock so i went with that, i would of liked to buy a L/T rear shock and link but i don't see myself in need of that right now it jumps and lands great and has plenty of travel.

Wouldn't u have a little better luck keeping the front end down if it had a rear shock? So the bike could squat a little on launch.

Just to let you know if you didnt already, you are supposed to get your rear PEP set up for those tires. They are smaller in diameter than Turf Tammers, and require a longer shock to perform at their best.

i'm sure he'll be alright buddy
Posted by: esr250r86
Im running a long travel rear pep with the baldwin link and with the mxr4's I had in my rear sat extremely high. With the quadcrosses it sits just about even now and rides awesome with them on. I think its set up pretty good. I didnt know that though but it rides fine the way it is.

Yeah a tire has A LOT to do with how a shock perfroms. All shocks have ratios. My rear shock has a ration of 2:1. For every 2" my rear tires moves up my shaft moves 1". It is important to give tire sizes to get maximum travel, and ground clearences. This is why it is important to have your shock set up for your linkage instead of mismatching. Your linkage is what gives you your ratios, and your shock builder will set it up to the ratio the linkage is set up for.

hey josh, looks like you went with the AC's. Trust me, if you hack the heal guards off they are soo much better. I didnt realized that i was getting caught on them during races until i cut my heal guards off. I do now regret it at all.
Other than that. Quad is looking amazing.

You know someone else told me that the other day actually. If it becomes a problem sometime soon then while they are in basically new shape I will take them off sell them and buy some raths. Is they any good aftermarket heel guards that will bolt up if I hack them off?

True that with the suspension but besides that everything else was bought.....Well i actually bought an exhaust and trail tech lights and then spent a little over 2 grand on the engine from getting it built by Baldwin (hopefully ill get a good gain out of the power), but my engine is still out at baldwin so i threw the engine from my other quad in there for now.
Posted by: 400exrapes
yeah sounds good, your really confusing with the sale of your quads, incredibly confusing.

not that i know of. All i know is that they are 100x's better without the guards. They look goofy, but they ride so muchbetter. I think I am going to switch to an IMS peg and nerf setup later in time.

Nope, none that I see so far. and i got them pretty tight too. If thats the only thing keeping you away from them you could probly by some good matching color zip ties and those should work just as good and shouldnt cause it to cut hose at all. Just so you know though, I had a hell of a time cutting the hose with actual hose cutters. I would say its about 5x if not more stronger than the stock ones which cut in half in about .5 seconds.
Posted by: kbass24emtp
Thanks for the info, I was just going off of CV4's recomendation to use radius clamps. I really wanted to use the stock ones, so I will. Thanks.
