I'm gonna take off my lid to see if I get a bit more ommphhhfff, but i was wondering if i can take out that white snorkle thing that run beside the carb. what is that part for? does it take in air from behind the oil cooler? and why.

It goes all the way up there, just cause it won't get water in it very often since its up there... But some people drill holes in there airbox, so I don't see why you couldn't drill some holes into your snorkle. I would just drill holes in it, and my airbox and don't even worry about taking off the lid.. Ur choice tho.

all you gotta do is lift the tank up remove the stretchy type band on the right side lift the tank and thats where the snorkel ends

it really doesnt do anything for the quad so I wouldnt do it

yeah like they said....its just a snorkle. helps keep out water, mud and chit from your air box. if you remove the lid, air....water, mud and everything else will be sucked in from that opening, not the snorkle. if you remove the snorkle it will leave a hole in the airbox that you should plug up.
might as well leave it on to keep it plugged unless youre worried about weight.....

If your going to run open air box then yes get rid of the snorkel. Nacs makes a plug that goes into the snorkel hole to plug it. On the other hand some people will say where ever you can get air use it and some leave the snorkle. Do as you want but it makes it much cleaner in your engine if you get rid of it.

it does make it LOOK cleaner. though i highly doubt there is any useful intake charge coming through the snorkel if the lid is removed........thats just me

i took it off, and plugged the hole with a spray paint can lid, it fit perfectly.

do you think if i cut a hole the size all the way around my air box lid, so it was basically a frame, then streached panty hose over the box and put the lid on tight , the panty hose would work as a filter?

Posted by: boricua

honestly, i dont understand what youre getting at. but as to the panty hose.....NO. its not a filter. a good one anyway. it may be able to stop big enough pieces, the kind the is big enough for the our eyes to see, but definately not the kind we cant see.......

I run my air box lid off with a complete pipe and it

does make a difference for me at my altitude but

you have to get a K&N outerwear cover or a cover for what airfilter

you have

it does work i left my snorkle on since i do alot of riding and

i ride through water and mud to get from place to place

Just giving my 2 cents

like the gangsta said you can plug it off with a spray can lid they fit well. I have also seen a lot of people put skoal cans in them they fit almost perfect also. there is really no need to have the thing if you are not gonna run a lid. but it does need to be plugged if you takeit out.
