Should I trade an '86 XC 250r for a '03 Raptor?

My buddy has an '86 250r and races harescrambles. He has an offer to trade it for an '03 Raptor that is bone stock other than skid plates. Does this sound like a good deal to yall? He is considering it, but doesn't know how good it will do in the woods. Any comments or suggestions will be appreciated.

250r vs 660 rappy in xc is like a ski boat vs a pontoon
or a corvette vs a mini van or a pitbull vs a poodle

ok ok maybe a overexageration but if he wants to be competitive
he will keep the 250r or get one of the newer 4 strokes
there is a reason they made so many upgrades from the 05 to
the 06 raptor.
