Nice when I had my 300 I put it on the top plastic and I had full plastic... I just cut a hole big enough for it to fit and slid it in...

good idea!!! looks like ya did a good job

thats tricky, now robbers wont be able to find the key, but what about when u go muddin, wont it get all coverd and stuff, lol
Posted by: Butters
what i did for my key is i bought the handlebar plastic off a '87 250x and put it on. it looks really good in my opinon but you can only use it if you still have your headlight. if you don't then what you guys are doing looks good too. it fits right on there just like it was made for it, except that the color is a little darker red than the stock but not by much. i think its cause mine is a little faded though, but i think it looks better than stock.

--Honda... Does the 250x plastic have holes for red / green lights or just a key hole?
Posted by: Butters
no the plastic just takes place of your handlebar plasric that goes over the whole thing. i'll try and get a pic of one.
Posted by: Butters
and this is another view. this isn't mine but i have the same handle bar plastic except my headlight plastic is red.

king, your a cleaver one, i will give you that much, you should start sellin those things man.

Thanx! for the picks! and the quick response.... I was looking for the model (ref. 250x plastic) some one "a few months back" mentioned the plastic on the 300 looked like a honda 90...
Lately, I'v been riding beond the limits of my 300...
And the plastic has saved my break res, and throttle cover...
"More than once..."
I guess a stock 300 wasn't made to climb over a 60 degree incline
with roots at the top...:blah
I liked the mod too! I always like to see people using American
ingenuity!

honda, where could i get one easily? cause i wanna get renthal but dont know where i could get the 250x RED handle bar clamp!! i need it, it looks awesome man, if u know where thanks
Posted by: Butters
ok i ordered mine offline at www.powersportspro.com then go to parts fish and you will have to select the model you want which would be a 1987 250x. then when you get this go to handlepipe and it will show you a diagram with it and you can order it there. i think if you have it shipped 2nd day the total comes to $20.29 i think thats pretty cheap for how much better it looks.
Posted by: 300EXrider02
u mean go to handle bar right, cause it wasnt in handle pipe...is there any hardware that needs to be ordered to? wut color is it? can i chose?
Posted by: Butters
oh i'm sorry i mean its under headlight. no you can't choose your color its red. and the red looks good on both the black and red headlight plastic. you don't any tools it uses the 2 screws that bolt the headlight plastic on.

Posted by: DMC mx400ex
i think the wires are gonna get burned on the header pipe, u should watch out for that,,, I think its ok but i like it in the front fenders more
