i just bought a 400ex. i am trying to find some lube for the chain. i got some stuff from work called muti-pupose lube and some silicon spray make by honda. will that stuff work good enough. someone told me wd-40 but i didnt know if this stuff will work.

you need something made specifically for o-ring chains. try Chain Wax from your local bike shop.

any lube is better then none. But finding a lube made for O-ring chains is the best, the wax is nce because it's not messy and does a good job.

I use that pj1 black label. Works great. If you lube after you ride and let it set till you ride next, it wont fly off all over the place and make a @#$# of a mess.

Ya what does everyone think is better? Chain wax or chain oil? I heard the oil is better cause it doesnt collect sand and dirt as much as the wax. but the wax is good cause it doesnt wash off like the oil. so whats really the best?

I use maxima crystal clear chain oil. good for o rings and if you lube it after you ride or wa**** it'll be good for the next ride
