Z400 and 250r rear shock on 400EX?

I am in the market for a new rear shock, and i found a couple on ebay and on this site. But the one on ebay says its for a 250r or 400EX, and the guy on here said his was on a z400 but will work on a 400EX. Can someone please help me figure this whole shock mess out, by the way I have the 400EX. Thanks,

the 250r shock will fit if it was for a 250r that used links, im not shure about the z400

Dont bother trying to make it work, even if it fits, its not going to be valved correctly. Just buy a shock for YOUR quad!
