I finally got a kickstarter and went to test my electrical system .... and you guessed it.... NO SPARK!!!

I read beerocks post on how to check the electrical system and it seems like my coil is the problem. Everything checks out ok... except for the secondary coil check.... i get no ( K OHM) reading at all. I tested with the cap on and with cap off, directly to the wire.

So.... if anyone has a GOOD coil that is reasonably priced let me know. I could use it ASAP.

My main question is this....

What CDI module should I be using???? I am using an 86 bottom end with an 89 crank on a 265PV cylinder. I have no idea which one I have... but was curious as to the difference between the 86-87....and the 88-89 cdi module.

Which one would work best for my application???

I saw those on ebay.. I think it was like a 100.00. Do they really make that much difference? I can buy a stock coil for 35.00 from servicehonda.

I have even considered a complete PVL Igniton system.
