Any one have any info on what kind of mileage you can get from the LTR. I will be racing an LTR in this years Score Baja 500 and IMS wont have a tank till the end of this month.

I don't have any actual facts, but I thought it was the thirstiest quad I have ever been on. I was filling up three times a day when I rode at Glamis. It seemed like every time I looked down the "low fuel" yellow light was on, LOL.

i run xc and i get great fuel consumtion is it different in the sand maybe cause your wide open all the time but i rode last saturday all day maybe 6 hours used maybe little more than half tank

Ive been getting about 25 miles to the gallon. Total Id say I got about 55-60 miles out of one tank. This is riding on sand and dirt pretty hard. More tight stuff then anything.

I get 4.5-5.5 miles/litre when riding hard...
10L tank = +-50miles hard riding.

It may not look the best.. but I bet you can do the old trick where you heat up the tank (empty/clean) with a heatgun to get it soft, then hook it up to an air compressor to stretch it out. Should get you a good amount more fuel capacity since you won't have the new tank yet.

we ran a ltr @ the terribles town 250. we did milage testing for the same reason. we got 53 plus miles out of a stock tank.

I got back from baja last night. I was able to put around 62 miles on one tank. I dont know how much longer I could have gone but the fuel level was pretty low. The fuel light turned on at around the 50-55 mile marker and I didn't stop till 62-64 mile marker.

That might be the worst recommendation I've ever heard posted on this site. Only a fool would try such a thing.

Do you heat up your A arms and stretch them longer so your bike has a wider stance too?

I've actualy seen people do that and worked out fine. But I am not to sure that would work on the LTR with all those hoses coming in and out.

Balances, Hawk, all of the top GNCC guys used to do that. Heat the tank and then pressurize it, mostly IMS tanks and it worked great. I think Tony Kellner(he's not a fool) came up with that idea? It won't work on the LTR tanks because of the diffrent ports in the tank due to the injection.

it wouldnt work because of the efi and tubes... or i dont think so.... anywhere between 52-58 is pretty good gas.... ims should be comin out with a tank anytime now

I heard that the first 100-120 miles of the 500 course were new trails that have an average speed of only 25 mph. Just wondering if you preran the new section? Best of luck in the 500.

Yeah. I was out there this weekend. Once you get past ojos it is all new. It is like cross country type of riding. You go through some pretty rough terrain. It should clear up some once some of the big cars prerun through there.
