With hopes of escaping the rollercoaster temperatures of Pennsylvania, I headed south to the southern Virginia track, Birch Creek. This Danville, VA track is the host of this years round #6 of the ATVA MX national series. On July 8th, the Extreme Dirt Track series will visit “The Creek’s” TT track. The TT track was opened this weekend to accommodate for the parking needs.

The track crew worked all weekend long to provide a challenging, yet safe track. Many complimented the track on their organization and ability to stay on schedule.
Posted by: tamehart
The water crew was able to keep much of the dust from lifting until the later motos.
Posted by: tamehart
Wes Miller, working towards a compilation of the national series, brought his camera gear again this weekend. He also took the time to talk and sign autographs for his fans, both young and old.

Along with many other press members, Jarrod Kelley, ATV Sport’s editor, could be seen snapping pictures from various angles.
Posted by: tamehart
David Schloss along with Marc Barilla took a scenic route from Ohio to Birch Creek this weekend to gain more footage for their upcoming issue of ATV-INSIDER. As David conducted interviews and took notes during the motos, Barilla sought those great pictures that can be seen in their publication.

The Suzuki Bridge provided a pass for spectators to gain more access to capture the racing in the back parts of the track on with the fast back stretch.
Posted by: tamehart
Around the pits, you will notice the presence of ATVRiders.com on many fenders. Harlen’s newest addition is trailer stickers. Several Trucks and trailers showed their support at this weekend’s event.
Posted by: tamehart
Pro Row was filled all weekend long with spectators and racers seeking their favorite pro’s autograph.
Posted by: tamehart
I asked around if anyone was excited for this weekends racing, with his expressed enthusiasm I will cut off the lead up and get right to it.
Posted by: tamehart
The track crew handled the 27 + pro am and pro Motos like professionals. From a spectator’s point of view, it was organized and the next moto was always ready to line up on the gate. With over 500 riders, this was fixing to be another great weekend of racing.

Coming into Saturday’s Pro-Am production race Matt White knew he would have his hands full with Upperman hot on his heals in the points race as they rolled into Birch Creek.
Posted by: tamehart
Josh Upperman worked hard this weekend for an overall win in the Pro-Am Production race. Taking the overall with White hot on his heels, Upperman moves within 9 points class points’ leader Matt White.
Posted by: tamehart
Matt White didn’t give up on catching Upperman. As he pushed himself harder, his quad caught to much traction and sent him up on two wheels. Like the professional he is, he put the quad back on four wheels and continued his hunt for the top spot.
Posted by: tamehart
With the battle up front, Mitch Reynolds placed himself in a comfortable 3rd place overall finish to round out the podium.
Posted by: tamehart
As Saturday wound down, The Media Allstars team posted great results. Team support rider, #718 Caleb Moore lead off the crew with a moto one win in the Open A class. A bobble sent Moore to the rear of the pack on Sunday as he would go on to post a 1-13 for an overall 7th place finish. Currently, Moore sits in second in the point’s race.
Posted by: tamehart
Brian Giles hauled his quad out to Birch Creek this weekend from Maplesville, AL. Giles took his #71 quad to an impressive 7-4 for an overall 4th place position. Giles currently sits in 3rd in points, just one point behind Moore. Brian also competed in the Veteran 30+ class. With a win this weekend, he takes a 3 point lead in the series points.
Posted by: tamehart
Chase Cunningham posted a consistent 3-3 finishes this weekend for a 3rd overall. Continuing his good weekend, Chase scored a 2nd place overall in the 25+ class.
Posted by: tamehart
In the Open-A class, this weekend’s top honors belonged to the #32 of Justin K. Norman. After following Moore around in the first moto, Justin was determined to get out front. That he did, as he marked a 2-1 finish for the weekend.
Posted by: tamehart
Angela Butler took no time off getting back at her game, after her delayed honeymoon vacation that caused her to miss last round at Budds Creek. Angela propelled her Media Allstars quad out front in the first moto, followed closely by the points leader, Heather Byrd.
Posted by: tamehart
Michelle Reiser is looking better and better each week. As she works toward a full recovery from her early season injury, she followed the leaders closely hoping or a quick mistake that she could capitalize on.
Posted by: tamehart
Carolyn Debault made the transition to Women’s production class. Missing practice on Friday put the other women at a much greater advantage, but she ran hard to bring home a 5th overall finish.
Posted by: tamehart
Christa Watson brought home a 4th place overall this weekend.
Posted by: tamehart
#113 Reiser stayed within striking distance of the leaders all weekend long. With Michelle’s speed continually getting faster, she will soon be a contender for the women’s title.
Posted by: tamehart
Heather Byrd chased Butler around both motos, but just wasn’t able to put out her fire. Byrd remains the point’s leader after her 2nd overall finish.
Posted by: tamehart
Angela Butler commanded the women’s class this weekend as she posted a 1-1 to take home the queen honors for round #6.
Posted by: tamehart
The womens sport class gets more exciting as the point’s race heats up. First moto Candace L. Lee took her Honda to the front. A moto one win would set her up exactly where she wants to be for the final on Sunday.
Posted by: tamehart
Having to stop during the race to remove mud packed in her rear tire during the second moto cost Lee a chance at an overall win. A 6th place second moto put her in a reasonable 4th overall.
Posted by: tamehart
Jessica Doherty, “Shorty” as her pants read, took the last podium spot with a consistent 3-3 finish.
Posted by: tamehart
Adrinne Cooper made the trip from Simi Valley, CA to ride. Fortunately, for her, Jamie Luburgh was unable to make the trip due to a schedule conflict which allowed Adrinne to ride her quad to a 2nd overall finish. With this, she holds a 13 point lead over Lee in the point’s race.
Posted by: tamehart
Briann Stout made 2 consistent runs that put her on top at the end of the weekend. A 1st place overall puts her in 3rd place in points.
Posted by: tamehart
Jeffrey B. Dodson, a VA resident, ran away with the win this weekend. Dodson marked up two consistent moto wins for the overall.
Posted by: tamehart
Mario A. Diangelo has the odds in his favor, as he comes off round #5 with an Overall win. Diangelo made his trip from Maryland worthwhile, as he would go 1-1 for the overall at yet another national race.
Posted by: tamehart
Another Suzuki rider, Jesse Mattucci, took home the number 2 plate as he went 5-2 on the weekend.
Posted by: tamehart
Chris R. Minter brought his stock Honda out to race this weekend. A 6-4 brought him a 4th place overall finish.
Posted by: tamehart
Brian King had a weekend unlike anyone else. Brian pulled a several bikes length holeshot in each of his motos. That is 4 holeshots and a 2 overall wins. King won both the 16-24 and the 4-Stroke A class. I think King needs to send me some contact info for motor-work.
Posted by: tamehart
#188 Chris Williams brought home a 4th in his Saturday’s qualifying race. Sunday he felt right at home with his fellow 19 top riders. A 3rd place second moto would earn him a 3rd overall.
Posted by: tamehart
Lost Creek Cycles, Thomas Brown, went 3-4 for a 4th overall. Brown tried every angle to get around King in the 4-Stroke A class, but had to settle for 2nd place overall as the checkers flew. Challenging himself in a 3rd class, Brown took home another top ten as he posted an 8th overall in the Production A class.
Posted by: tamehart
Ryan Sowers brought home a 6th overall finish this weekend
Posted by: tamehart
Kyle Dammann, Cernics Suzuki Rider, brought home a 15th place overall. His best ride this weekend was seen in the 4-Stroke A class, as he would go 6-8 for an overall 8th.
Posted by: tamehart
J R Hinds brought his Fullbore outfitted Honda 450r to this weekends race. A hind took a moto one win, but was unable to stay up front in the second. A 1-12 would earn him a 9th overall.
Posted by: tamehart
Taylor Condarcure had some bad luck this weekend as he would take home a 20th in the 16-24 along with an 18th in the 4-Stroke A class. Look for Taylor as he gets his new Suzuki/ Axis quad dialed in.
Posted by: tamehart
Richard J. Slayton tailed Brian Giles this weekend to earn himself a 2nd overall finish (2-2)
Posted by: tamehart
Krish Butter would put his New Jersey accented Honda upfront with a 2-3 moto finishes. A 3rd overall completes his weekend.
Posted by: tamehart
Ian T. Smith showed this weekend that Hyrids are indeed not dead. A 9-14 put him in the 15th overall position. Ian also earned a 7th overall in the 25+ class. A 3rd class, Open-A, earned him a top ten finish. Smith finished 9th overall against the top A riders, both young and “older.”
Posted by: tamehart
Production C fell short of a full gate this weekend, but the exciting racing fell no where near. As moto one kicked off, #462 jumped out to an early lead as he claimed the holeshot.
Posted by: tamehart
#462 Britton T. Wasmer fell back a few positions and was unfortunately able to finish the second moto. A 5-DNF would still earn him a 12th overall.
Posted by: tamehart
Rounding out the top four was Mike Jackson. Like the top 3, Jackson went for a consistent 4-4 for a 4th overall.
Posted by: tamehart
Brandon Tittle would take home honors this weekend aboard his Cobra. 1-1 finishes makes math easy to configure his overall win.
Posted by: tamehart
The 90cc Mod class is full of expensive mini quads. The way these kids ride though, I don’t believe anything less would hold up. These riders were hitting nearly all the jumps, if not more, than some of the larger classes. Two Hetrick riders jump out front early in Sunday’s main event.
Posted by: tamehart
Pulling the holeshot, Joel Hetrick would cruise to a 1-1 victory over fellow riders.
Posted by: tamehart
Jeffray Rastrelli was not far behind his teammate, Joel, as he would earn a 2nd overall finish going 3-2 for the weekend.
Posted by: tamehart
Jake “The Snake” Brattain took his Media Allstars mini for a 5-5 ride.
Posted by: tamehart
Lost Creek Cycles Rider, James Miller #69

What camera and lens do you use???
Posted by: tamehart
BFELIX- Thanks for the compliment. I use a 20d along with a 70-200 lens.
Posted by: tamehart
Nicholas F. Moser made the trip from Pennsylvania to compete in the 90cc Production Sr. class. 3-1 moto finishes earned him a 2nd overall finish.
Posted by: tamehart
Cody Tittle regained his composure after a 12th first moto to run down a 4th place second moto finish. This put Cody in a 10th place overall finish.
Posted by: tamehart
Brett J. Musick reeled in a moto one with aboard his cobra. Second moto he found himself behind Brandon Tittle and Cam Covil. A 3rd place finish would put him in 2nd overall
Posted by: tamehart
Nathan R. Commer impressed and recently joined the Media Allstars team. With four wins this season in the Production A, inluding a win this weekend at Birch Creek, Commer leads Casey Martin in the Points race by a margin of 17 points.
Posted by: tamehart
Commer also took home a win in the 265A class. He holds a large margin over second place in the point's race.
Posted by: tamehart
Michael Lehotay was having fun during practice on friday.
Posted by: tamehart
Richard Lindsay brought home a win in the youth production this weekend to edge him a bit closer to the points leader.
Posted by: tamehart
New Jersey resident, Bobby Mazey, went 2-4 for an overall 4th place finish.
Posted by: tamehart
Jermiah Jones was on top of his game this weekend.
Posted by: tamehart
Mike Walsh made the trip to support Jermey Lawson.
Posted by: tamehart
Wimmer kept an eye on the lines other riders were taking at the triple when he hit a table top. Wimmer was looking very fast this weekend.
Posted by: tamehart
Jason Luburgh was struck with problems on friday, but looked better than ever on Saturday.
Posted by: tamehart
Hitting hard on the triple usually didn't result very good.
Posted by: tamehart
That might be a bolt that you want to lock tight.
Posted by: tamehart
Cam Covil's quad ready for battle.
Posted by: tamehart
Kyle #64 and Taylor #404 off the start
Posted by: tamehart
Triple. enough said.
Posted by: tamehart
when in doubt about how to hit a jump, analyzing other riders will help
Posted by: tamehart
that's about all I got for you guys. I will miss next round at Red Bud, but will come back with amateur coverage at Muddy Creek.
Good luck to everyone and ride safe.
