skid vibrating or rubbing powder?

I am getting my frame powdercoated by BK Performance or Pappy and I decided to find a way to keep my chassis skid from rubbing off my new powder. I wend to Wal Mart and got some of the weather stripping that comes in a 10 foot role and used it on my skid plate on the areas where it comes in contact with the frame. I just thought maybe you guys had trouble with your skids vibrating and this should work. Its sticky on one side and not on the other. I havent tried it yet, but it should definitly work!

I even put it on the clamps that clamp to the frame because they really scraped the stock paint off.

Should help to get rid of that annoying chatter!

Post some comments or suggestions. I would like to see what you guys think

I've done that for the past few years. It works great. Every so often I replace the weather stripping, because it will rub it off, after awhile.

Great idea man. I'm gonna go do that to mine tomarrow. I almost feel like an idiot for not thinking of it. Thanks

Thanks for the responses. I sure hope it works. I think everyone should do this.

Please keep telling me what you think.

Thanks

My skid came with that stuff allready on it but if it didn't I would definitely have done this.

did you have to get longer bolts. i know my prm bolts would not have been long enough for that much padding. i just ran a thin peice of rubber. worked just as well. looks good tho.

Bump

I think everyone should see this because rattling skids and ruined powdercoat both are annoying. I would like to keep it active as long as i can.

When I get the money for aluminum to make myself some skid plates, I was thinking of getting something like that to keep it from scratching the paint.
