Thumb Throttle Problems...Please Help Quick!

I was riding yesterday and my thumb throttle suddenly went the wrong way (towards center of bike). I took the cap off the throttle, figuring it was something in there like the spring, but I didn't find anything out of the ordinary. Now when I put the spring back on, it does the same thing. Am I putting the spring on wrong, or is this something else? I'm going to an open ride Saturday and a race on Sunday, so I need to get this fixed on the rush. Thanks.

You have the piece that the end of the cable is hooked onto not secure within your throttle assembly. You problably just need to tighten the bolt within your throttle assembly tighter.
