ok here it goes, maybe a simple problem i dunno.

it will not turn over(the starter) but the lights will com one and the ignition light will come on everything electrical works. its just that i have to kick start it everytime i ride it, and its getting old. the thing is it that,, ( andd here is the reason i dont think it is the starter) beside the batter there is this cylinder shaped thing that has two wire that have 2 nuts showing .. i can arch those two wires(with a scre driver) and the starter will turn over and the thing will start. also when i press the start button, i can hear a clicking sound in that cylinder shaped thing.. any ideas?

Id have the battery tested.....but it sounds like a bad starter relay or solonoid

yea im leaning on whatever that little cylinder shaped thingy is.. because i think that battery is fine, cause it will run my lights, and i have a cdplayer/speakers wired to the battery it runs everything fine,, i even unhooked the cd player, and nothing,, plus that thing makes a little faint clicking sound, is it called the solonoid. ??

It definetely sounds like your solenoid is bad.

are they expensivve? i guess ill check it out an see how much it is maybe one on ebay or something?

here is what it used to do, before it finally gave out i guess. the cylinder shaped thingy(is that the soloniod?) sometimes you could start it and it would start but the starter would keep on cranking, and i would have to hurry up and take the seat off and hit that little soloniod with a rock or what have you, either way it worked and it would stop the starter from turning, then i could turn it off, and it would start fine, (not stickying the next time) but every now and then it would get stuck, and i would have to beat on it

From what I can find, they aren't cheap. Every site I have been on is about the same price, around $50. I didn't look on ebay though, could probably pick one up on there considerably cheaper.

yea ill check ebay out, cause i dont want to put alot of money into it, cause its old and stuff, hell i might not even fix it, i was just wanddering exactly what it was
