It most likly your jetting but some times its a exhaust leak if it pops when you get off the gas I would check the exhaust

It sounds like your jets are running you too lean. Try a bigger jet size. I just jumped up to a 135. Haven't run it yet, but my buddies say it is gonna make a big difference.

Is it backfiring just when you let off the gas? If so that is what they call deacceleration backfire and you could turn your air/fuel screw out for more gas or it could be the pilot jet.
