Does anyone have any pictures of an ESR Centermount. I would really like to see how that looks.

Not the best view but you can see a little.

1. What is the theoretical difference between the centermount trx5 pipe and the regular one?
2. Do people find an actual difference?

That thing is sick....
Nice quad man, seriously nice.

it gives a bit cooler running engine and a tiny bit more power then tha standard trx-5. it is a measureable diffrence but i dont know that its enouf to tell with the good old butt dyno.

ya the butt dyno! I read on Rick's site someone saying it helps low end power. I guess it has a shorter silencer helping it cool better. I wouldn't want to have to run their intake setup though if that is supposed to be mandatory... I hear it isn't as good as stock.

also no burnt plastic

oldsandman pat yourself on the back, that is one killer quad

The center mount has a shorter "stinger" ESR said it helps the larger motors run cooler. The pipe is about 6 inches shorter. An easy solution to your question would be to call ESR and ask them. They will tell you everything. As far as running their intake. I have run 2 GNCC races and 2 Hare scrambles with it and I take an old tire tube and wrap it loosly around the filter and zip tie it together. I never had problems with water.

Here's another side view of the pipe.

got one on my quad. I ran tt and short track with it at first but when i set the bike mx i kept it on it ran real good with it on there. Might not of been all the pipe because i did run it with a esr filter kit. so i had no air box.

I'm no pipe builder by any means, but to back-up what ESR350R said I'll share what I understand about stinger length. Aside from allowing exhaust gas a place to exit, the stinger's job is to bleed off pressure in the expansion chamber. A certain amount of pressure builds up in there. High density of the gasses in the chamber are good for transmitting strong pressure waves. Since 2 stroke pipes work because of pressure waves, high pressure/density in the chamber can help the pipe work well. But those high densities in the chamber also allow a place for heat to build up--so engine temps tend to rise.

A shorter stinger holds in less pressure so it makes sense that ESR would say the centermount would help big engines run cooler.
