How To "Wire" your Grips

Tools needed

Safety wire (24 gauge works for me)

Safety Wire pliers or plain old needle nose

Install your grips using the glue recommended by the manufacture and allow it to fully cure/dry

Once it is dry, begin by cutting a length fo safety wire approx. 8 inches long.

Wrap it around the outer most wire groove in your grip.

Clamp your wire pliers about 1 inch or so back from the grip

Spin the wire pliers , or turn your needle nose to start binding the wire, making sure it remains in the wire groove of the grip

Once you get it tight enough, cut it off about 1/2 inch or a little less from the grip and put a bend in it. Take your pliers and push the tip of the wire into the grip and flatten it out. You want it to penetrate the grip so it will not poke your hand when riding.

I always do mine at the top of the grip, if done on the fronts side or bottom it will tend to work out of the grip and implae your hand

When you finish the first groove, your ready to move on to the others. Some grips have 2, 3 and 4 grooves.
