Check the want adds on kansascity.com (Kansas City Star website).

I'd never buy a new 300ex. (Ok I did in 98, but I wasn't so bright back then.. lol. And, they announced the 400ex like a week later.. haha) You can get a used one a lot cheaper.

I have a 97 for sale. Its kinda a basket case right now. The motor is out of it, cause the left case half broke. I replaced the case half and allt he bottom end bearings and seals, but haven't gotten around to putting the top end on it yet. I've been way too busy at work. Just needs to be bored .010" over and have new piston/rings installed. Most of the plastic is broken or laced up and it needs new tires and brake calipers., but the frame is straight and I just put a 400ex steering stem in it. Would make a great project quad for someone who has the time and money.

$800 OBO , I live in north east ohio. I don't have pics, but I'll tell you it doesn't look very pretty, oh BTW, it has a new lonestar bearing carrier in it. i replace that just before the case half blew apart.

If they haven't sold it yet.. they should be willing to negotiate.

I'd look for a 250x. Older.. but same quad. Should be able to get it a lot chaper. Replace the front and rear bearings, and you'll probably be good to go.

Keep an eye out in the for sale section on this site too. You can find some GREAT deals down there.

Guy up the road from me has an87 250x with a 350x motor in it and full beadlocks all the way around. he only wants$1300 for it.
If i had the cash right now. i'd be all over it. My wife would have my balls though. She almost had a stroke when she found out i spent $1000 on the front end.
