Today I was out riding and my bike was doing fine, it then started missing. I took it back to the truck, checked the gas( first things first), checked all the electrical connections, and checked the float( I had problems with it last week ). After I checked everything I tried to kick it over and it wouldn't start. I finally got it started by pushing it. After i started it it was still mising and running like s***. I took it back to the truck and took off the flywheel cover for the H*** of it. When I took it off the first thing I noticed was a burning smell and melted pieces of plastic inside the case so I stopped riding it. When I got home I pulled the flywheel and the stator was completely fried!!!

what do you guys think could of caused this?

I'm okay with buying a new one but I want to know why this happend.

Any help would be appreciated.

shorted wire in the stator caused this.
replace with a new one and you will be good to go. I would buy a used one waaaaaay before a new one. They hardly go bad on the Rs.
