hey 400ex owners .. i was wondering if i can see some pics or especially some videos of 400ex's doing some wheelies . and if you have one i wanna hear how far you can ride one , thx

Posted by: TRX23rider

i can ride them for as long as i have room, i dont have any pics of myself but im sure wolffie will see this and post some pics of me for ya

Posted by: imabadmotha

I can ride a wheelie for along ways... just give me room and flat space...

Posted by: RangerRick

I wish I could show you mine.I use to ride wheelies up my grandmothers steep driveway a year or so ago.It looked sweet on camera but my ex is broke right now.

Posted by: Flyin-Low

Hehe, i can pull mine up in 5th

Im not even kidding !!

Posted by: 500exracer

5th thats impressive

Posted by: imabadmotha

Hehe, i can pull mine up in 5th

HEHE, NO.... I wanna see a 400EX wheelie in fifth.... Unless your shifting into 5th in the wheelie.... If u dead shift inton fifth you are the biggest b.s'er EVER!

Posted by: TRX23rider

i can pull mine up in 5th to! its not that hard it just takes alot to pull it back

Posted by: 500exracer

I agree fully with imabadmotha

Posted by: Flyin-Low

Goin down the road, in 5th like half throttle i let off, stand up, pull back HARD and GUN IT she comes up in 5th.

Dont believe me if you want to... i really could care less as to what your oppinion is.

Posted by: 500exracer

yes...you are still rolling... we mean from a dead stop

Posted by: imabadmotha

i can pull mine up in 5th to! its not that hard it just takes alot to pull it back

so u can sit there shift her into 5th off the line and just do a wheelie.... B.S

Posted by: Flyin-Low

Eh, a dead stop?? how much fun is a wheelie under 80 km/h??

Posted by: TRX23rider

no im not saying a dead stop either that is impossible! im saying what Flyin-Low is saying, just cruise at like 1/2 throttle then gunit and lean back. Its almost impossible to take off in 5th let alone wheelie out of it!

Posted by: 500exracer

ok..just making sure.. i was like WOW! this guy is good being able to ride a 5th gear wheelie from a dead stop

Posted by: Flyin-Low

Well, im good... i just havent tried it yet

Yea, i doubt a perfectly built 450r could wheelie 5th from a dead stop.

-Martin

Posted by: B-rad D

i dont think a really built 450r could even taker of in 5th

Posted by: JR_rivard

if you really want to ride wheelie's try getting an older honda 250r 3-wheeler, my unlce and i race down a blacktop road at my cabin and he passes me doing a wheelie a wheelie in 5th, and he dont have to stand up and pull back.

Posted by: 750rida

whit my 750 brute force you will be amazed wat i can do. I can ride wheelis for ever. I can bicycle and do donuts. but honda's do have a good rep for wheelies

Posted by: Flyin-Low

Wasnt there a thread about wheelies like 3 days ago??? I just noticed that...

Posted by: NCexRider

In an open field I'll ride one as far as you want me to.

Posted by: ride hard man

Heres one of me.

Posted by: 1fst400

old pics. thing was a little diffrent then

my +1 1/4 swinger put a major damper on wheelies. it canges things suprisingly much.

Posted by: ride hard man

LMAO, love the photoshopped helmet...

Posted by: 1fst400

oh, and my motor is fairly built up. makes some serious power.

it dont do no wheelies in 5th gear. mabie the longer swing arm has somthin to do with it. But I dono. Mabie if I went over a little woop or sumthin to help the front end up.

however riding it from like 4th up to 5th is no prob says bob.

lol, helmet isnt photoshoped.

Get in second with your foot on the grab bar..... Go about 3/4 throttle, let off, then get back on it pulling up..... Best way for beginners, had my buddy who just started riding do it, and hes doing good now...... Then just find your balance point, and step off if you go to far and hit the bar...

Posted by: hondaboy400ex55

ok if you done know 400ex's are WHEELIE machines!!!

i can ride wheelies for about 300 yards before i top out

(fifth gear wheelies= really scary!)

Posted by: cory21

noob question.... im just learning to wheelie and i was wondering if its extremely bad when the motor gets really loud and is revving alot when your pulling up or ending a wheelie?

Posted by: Flyin-Low

Not extremely bad... you mean your just revving the piss out of that motor?

If your revving that high, try shifting why wheelying if your skills are good enough.

The first time you try to shift why doing a wheelie i suggest you try it on soft ground and from first to second.

And if you try to shift, powershift (dont use clutch) or the front end will just drop like a rock.

HAVE FUN!!!

-Martin

Posted by: TRX23rider

i wouldnt reccomend power shifting. it is not good for the engine. if i were you i would try to use the clutch and shfit while in the wheelie and find a better balance point so you dont have to be on the throttle as hard.

Its hard on your engine when your full throttle drag racing sum1 and your slammin into those gears..

But when your easing into them with low RPMS and letting off the throttle.... No harm done!!

Posted by: JR_rivard

if you are a beginner at doing wheelies definatley put a foot back on the garb bar, it always you to ride them farther, which in turn allows you to get more comfortable and to learn your balance point. once you are comfortable there's no stopping ya.

Posted by: wolffie

hehe, mabey if you really hone your skills you can throw it on 1 wheel! pic of trx23rider:

Posted by: Flyin-Low

Now theres some wheelie skills!!!

Good job on that

I did that once coming out of a doughnut and i ate it

-Martin

Posted by: milehigh450r

Damn, that takes some skill right there. I've never tried wheelies higher than 3rd gear on either of the bikes. I'm sure they could pull up, and I ain't scared either. I like to wheelie from a dead stop, drop the clutch and up. I'm also tryin to get ridin on 2 wheels on a side perfected. Man, all this talkin makes me want to get out and ride!

Posted by: Blue_Streak23

First of all...If you are reving the piss out of your motor, I suggest you adjust the valves!

By the way TRX23rider,

You suck, I can do that with one hand!

>>>>Just kidding Tim, your are pretty nasty at wheelies!

Posted by: 500exracer

nice one wheel wheelie

Posted by: TRX23rider

thanks guys!

peice of cake

Posted by: 400EXtreme

heres one

Posted by: ride hard man

Ya I used to powershift when I first started from second to third.....

Once you get good though, you can use the clutch....

I use the clutch, but you have to get it up pretty high so it doesn't fall down....

Practice makes perfect.

Posted by: TRX23rider

^^^^ exactly what i was attempting to say but i failed

Posted by: Franky G

A stock 400EX can pull a wellie on the 5th gear if you cant do it means you cant drive!!

Posted by: 500exracer

heres some more b.s can you shift into fifth or from a dead stop in fifth...shifting into i believe you it isnt hard....from a dead stop you are full of it

Posted by: #1contender

Yah from a dead stop I dont think any 4-wheeler can do a whelie in fifth... actually I know they can't... much less gettin your 4-wheeler not to die in 5th gear from a dead stop.. that is impossible too...

Posted by: imarida61

i fully agree ^^^^^^

Posted by: milehigh450r

Wait wait wait, who thought they could wheelie from a dead stop in 5th? That's crazy man.

Posted by: EXevan91

if u have high enough rpms when u drop the clutch and u get it rolling ... w/e its dumb anyway why would u want to start in fifth anyway i find it much more fun go go thru the gears ... only to find i have no sixth ... i used to ride bikes so iam sad wiht the lak of speed and i have no money to rebuild her... anyone want to donate ?

Posted by: atvRiDa400ex
