how long has it been doing this? mine burned quite a bit when it was new and I was told it is just how the CRF & TRX engines work

i rode the bike all last season with no problems but this year its been burning oil alot like half a quart within 2 races and it only holds 3/4 of a quart

you're tranny side isn't over full is it? I think it would push from tranny to motor if there was a problem but you could check this just in case. If that's not it you're quad just burns allot of oil I guess. You should also check and make shure it's not pushing any out of the crankcase vent that is in the air box.

I'm a friend of Trx. We have checked all of the above. I'm assuming that it is burning it, (rings), but absolutley no signs of smoke, spark plug isnt oily, no residue in exhaust either. I would think that it would be smoking a little anyway. This is driving us nuts. We are thinking of freshening it and putting a 12:1 piston in. If that doesn't cure it, we still gained a lil power anyway. Not sure what else to do. It runs great. Trx is getting the holeshot most of the time. Idea's?
