After riding a Raptor which weighs in at around 445lbs. wet the Predator is even heavier!! Now, an engine can make up for weight while the wheels are on the ground but it doesn't help you when trying to manuever it in the air. Can you imagine trying to shift 460lbs. around in the air lap after lap? You'll get tired quickly.

I'm glad that Polaris is throwing their hat into the sport quad arena but they've missed the mark. The Predator isn't even AMA legal so where's someone gonna race this thing at competitively except in some Open class? Cannondale has shown the sport world what a quad should be; lightweight, strong motor and good suspension right outta the box.

You can race them in open class in ama races.

Isn't that what I said--not legal except in the Open class?

There were multiple reasons. The first one was the fear of the tranny letting go. I will have to say that I never had a single problem with mine. Never had carb boots blow off, never had any misshifts or anything like that but just didn't like knowing that it could happen. Another big thing was the weight. It had more than enough motor to pull it around but moving 445lbs. around in the air gets tiring after several laps. There are some things I miss about it though. The biggest of those being the low end grunt. That was great for trails and coming out of corners. The other being the electric start. The guy who bought it off me stills rides it without a problem.
