i just got a hmf slip on and i instaled it and i also used a 165 jet too well i dint know where the air/gas screw is at so i didint mess with it
now it runs perfect no back firing, no smoke ,starts no problem but it is runing hot what should i do ?
would i need to adjust the air/gas screw ??
or is it runing to lean ?? would taking off my air box lid fix the problem if it was lean ?

also i ddint adjust the needel would this be the problem ??

How do you know it's running hot?

What makes you think its running hot? And if it is, its because its too lean and taking off the airbox lid would give it more air yet, and therefore make it more lean.

Get a bigger jet.

cuz it feals alot hotter
yea thats what ill do

it shouldnt make it hot with a different pipe on it. Does it have low oil, making it run hotter?

Posted by: Wheelie

Try jetting it leaner, a 165 w/ only a pipe sounds too rich

Try a 155 or 158

Did you leave the heat shield on your headpipe? Your motor feels hotter or your exhaust does?

Posted by: rancher350rider

both they both feal hotter

just ride faster. stop riding like you grandma.

you need to address the pilot and mid-range circuits, not just the WOT portion.

move needle clip down a notch or two

buying a jet kit will help you out alot. deff. a must if you plan on doing any other mods. the kit will have instructions on how to set it up. (very easy to follow)
