I seem to remember a thread like this a while back. It may not have even been on this forum though...

I am looking at getting a used Z and was wondering what some of the known problems are.

03s had frame probs and 05s and up have corrosion problems witht he coolant. if u get an 05 or 06 either change to a waterless coolant of get an aluminum water pump cover and clutch cover.

Timing chains are also known to wear out quickly. Other than that I believe they are very solid machines.

Ride it or have someone ride it and look at all 4 wheels carfully, look for any wobbles that could be bent axle, rim, or spindles. All those things can be bent no matter what quad you buy.
