it might be a dumb question but im picking a used 440ex and read that you can use a 426 piston is that correct? i heard the 426's were a lil bit better than the 440. and can you still run pump gas on a 426 cause i already have to carry enough race fuel as is with my other quads. sorry new to the 4 stroke world. still rocking my 2- 250r's (1 with ct330 kit!)

You'll have to resleeve to a 426 bore...440 bore is bigger so a 426 piston wouldn't work...You can run pump gas but ours runs better on camll....It might run hot on pump so watch it close....

waht gas you run depends on your compression. i have an 11:1 426 and run 93 pump gas in it. it runs great and i only get a little pre-det on the hottest of days.

how much is a new sleeve and is it something i can do myself? can i change it to a 416?

Yes, you can get a 416 sleeve but you should get a machine shop to put it in....They will need to hone it to your piston too...Not sure exactly what a new sleeve would run...
