can anyone give a comparison based on performance between the two sets of front shocks. and will the yamaha shocks fit a 400ex

I kno the yahama front shocks wont fit, but they make a product where you can get them to fit.

yfz wont fit without modifications, 450r will fit if you grind the top down a little bit

I just did this today.YFZ 450 shocks will fit if you grind the top mount about 1/2 inch.The bottom will bolt right up no modifacations.It sits 1 inch lower.I only rode on pavement and could see a huge difference.It is worth it especially cause I got the shocks for free.

What part are you grinding 1/2? I don't see where there is a half inch on the mount bracket to grind. Or are you grinding a 1/2 inch off the top of the shock. Is there anyway you can attach a pic to show what you mean.
