Aftermarket Exhaust joints?

Just wondering what everyone uses to get a good seal on the pipe joints. I hate to put that ugly RTV around the outside of the joint.

Is there any other options?

I put ultra copper or black sealer on the outside of the pipe stinger then slip it on to the silencer, wipe off the extra and go. Makes a good clean seal with no mess left over.

Get the rubber boot used on a CR250 between the pipe and silencer (any from 92-02 and maybe other years), it fits very tight and you'll have no leaks.

Ok... Thats for the joint from pipe to silencer... but what about the large joint up front where the header meets the pipe.

Does that also need to be sealed?

I'll be putting mine back together here shortly, and I will probablly just use Hondabond liquid gasket for that part of the pipe. You might want to think about trying that.

what about the factory pieces? had the same problem and ordered the factory rubber collar and two springs and it has worked fine since, and that is with fmf pipe and silencer, and cost less than 11bucks

I bought one of the billet exhaust flanges with Viton rings on Ebay.

Ebay item - 4622089953

I also just bought one of those on ebay. I bought the CFM Performance one.

I guess I will try the clear honda sealer for the large joint at the expansion chamber.
