Last year at one of my 6yr old sons mx races they had some mini quad racing. My daughter immediately asked me if she could race the quads. So after some research I said yes. She's 10 and weighs 53 pounds, very petite. I was looking at the new typhoon 90cc quads to start her off and a 90cc for my son unless he needs a 70cc. What do you think of these quads?
Any other info would be appreciated so thank you in advance.

Don't know much about the Typhoons but the ages for 90cc quads is 8-15 and for 70cc quads is 6-11 if that helps you decide what size machines to get.

Go with either a Kasea or E-ton

For racing, stick with a brand that has/is/will be a racer
Kasea/Dinli/Aasco/Extreme and yes even a LT80.

My daughter has raced a trx 90 honda for 4 yrs. it is by far the most dependable in stock form, and the most competitive.

Agreed to what has already been said. Stick with the names that you can find aftermarket parts for Many of the parents here can also be of a BIG help at times if you ever need troubleshooting...
Kasea
E-ton
TRX-90
Extreme
Dinli
Predator 90 is just a few of the main ones commonly races ...
for a 10 yr old make sure you get a quad that the Chassis will suit her for a few more years. She might be somewhat petite now, but that will somewhat change ANYTIME now ...But also, make sure it somewhat fits her as well so she doesnt get hurt from not fitting on it well either. And even better yet..... Take her to an Atv shop or Race track and ask the kids to let her sit on a few ,maybe get with some kids on an off- Race day and let her take a few for a spin and let her be the judge

it seems everbody forgets the cobra quads. you can take it as a 50 70 90 without shifting. or start with a 70 shifter with a auto clutch or a manual clutch then go to a 90. It is the most stable quad on the market, with the best suspention.

My opinion is stick with either an E-ton or Kasea, my son races the 70 class on an E-ton this is his 2nd year and the E-ton has been the most reliable bike I have ever owned, I mean by far it is no where near in stock form but it has never let us down and it is scary fast and handles very well. Here is a Pic of my son a couple of weeks ago at one of the local tracks, as you can see he is not very easy on the bike...

I say get a powerwheels.

Hey Minton, what's the deal?
OK you gave your opinion on a powerwheels. We respected that, but to go on and on is unnessesary.
Did you read where the rider is 10? Yes she don't weigh much but why insult ppl!
Posted by: minton
I aint insultin. Sorry.

I don't know but at only 14 years old minton maybe you should still be on a powerwheels or maybe jump on a 70 or 90 and I will bring my son out on his 70 so he can show you what a little guy can do....

All of you guys forgot the Apex pro mx. We have 2 riders and both are 7 and rock out on the pro mx 90cc the bikes are so stable and the suspension is awsome which will help the rider controll and feel safe racing.

Also don't forget to check out the DRR's. They own the 50 limited class now and they are coming out with a 70 in December. http://www.drrinc.com/
