Caliper piston pads missing???

The calipers I bought for my project are are missing the aluminum endcaps that press against the inside pad.

Service honda wants like 57.00 a pc for the pistons if I am recalling correctly.. (its been awhile since I last checked)

Anyhow,,, one of my parts suppliers had told me that he had seen people use any good bonding agent to bond a nickle to the end of the piston to take the place of the endcap.

Seems like this will work... but just wanted to see if anyone else has heard of this or if there might be some unforseen problems Im overlooking.

Anyone want to chime in???

my local honda guy told me that i dont even need them. Mine broke and he said to just leave them off and it would be perfectly fine. They seem fine to me so i didnt mess with it. I will prolly put new ones on next time i put brake pads on.
