400ex 426 weisco 11:1 piston stage 1 hot cam ,fmf jet kit crf450r cam chain, white brothers rev box , had head done started wouldnt idle ran terrible at full throttle til valve lost keeper and hit piston . had head done again same problem except this time split a retainer and valve hit piston this time destroying valve guide and damaging piston ,iam going to reassemble again but want to cover all bases before it goes bat again .this machine was bought as a basket case and not sure if has offset key or not any ideas on getting this running right

any ideas i really am stumped timing is on and every thing by the book help !!!!!!!!!!
would rather put more money into somthing other than valves and head
